Hi I'm Kaitlyn

i'm from Texas! i'm serving a mission in Wisconsin :) i'm a mormon.

About Me

I was born in Washington State but moved to TEXAS when i was 8, and claim that to be my home. I'm right in the middle of 6 siblings-three older and three younger. I love being part of a big family- especially one that has grown since i was eight years old to become the large happy and united family that it is. My parents were married in 1998 and so i got two new sisters and a father that year :) and then two years ago we added my youngest brother (16) to our family. I love to be outside, especially in the mountains. I feel close to the Lord there, almost more than any other place. I love scuba diving, hiking and back packing mostly, and have added biking to my list of outdoor hobbies. I love singing! i especially love singing a broadway (or disney) song that has a good story behind it. I love photography, food, movies, super heros, dancing, and reading. I love doing these things with people i love- to attach memories to them. I know the reason my family is so happy is because of my Savior Jesus Christ. It is only he that could unite such a mixed family and it is through him that i know that the realtionships i have with my family stretch far beyond this life. My beautiful parents understand this and have taught us this from the beginning. It is through their hard work and love that we are so close.

Why I am a Mormon

i'm a mormon because i know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the WHOLE truth. I know that this is pure religion. The principles of the Gospel are what God intends for His children to follow so they can have all the happiness that He has for them. One truth that is especially important to me is that i know that Heavenly Father loves my family and has made it possible for us to be together forever. We were a family before we came to mortality and we will still be a family after we die. And the Gospel has made us a family now. I mentioned in my "about me" section that i have a mixed family. It is because of the principles taught in the Gospel and the knowledge of our Savior's sacrifice for us that we can be so close. The Gospel not only ensures that we can be a family in the eternities, it has made it possible to be a family now. I know that raising my children in the Gospel is the one sure way they can be happy- and i want that more than anything for my future family. I know the Gospel is true-that's why i'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now i am living my faith by serving a full time mission for the Church. I am serving in the Wisconsin, Milwaukee Mission. It is so wonderful to be a missionary. Many of the people we meet do not know that there is a God, or don't know that God is a tender Father. This knowledge and the knowledge of Jesus Christ and the infinite and eternal sacrifice he made changes people hearts. This change is beautiful and i love being, in a very small way, a part of it. I have always worked hard to listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I think that is the key to living my faith- to live worthy to have the guidance of the Holy Ghost and follow that guidance to the best of my capability.
