Hi I'm Kathy

I'm a Mormon. I am a wife, mother, grandma. I am a Welfare Service Missionary. These are the best things in my life today.

About Me

I love to quilt, I love music, playing the piano, serving others and being a grand mother. I love to quilt from the examples of my grandmothers and greatgrandmothers and my mother. I have been serving as a Welfare Service Missionary at our local Bishop's Storehouse here in Colorado, for almost 5 years. This helps fill my needs by serving others because my 4 children are all growen-up. I have had a love for music all my life as far back as I can remember. Music helps lift my spirits and overcome my fears. Many of my family members have loved music. I have many examples, one that of my father, my grandparents and as far back in the generations as I can remember. Music has always been an important part of who I am. I love being a mother of four wonderful children. I love my six plus grandchildren and love to spend time with them. I love the children and the hope of our future in their eyes. I have had the blessing of working with the children with the church since I was sixteen years old. The children have such a love for life and help me to remember to count my blessings. I love prayer in my daily life. We all have trials that help us to grow. Sometimes we wonder why "me". But through prayer, reading my scriptures, and serving others I feel hope in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Through out my life I have had many examples of faith from my family members. As pioneers in the gospel, as pioneers of faith and hardships, and faithfully enduring their trails, I feel courage and hope that I can overcome all that is given to me with faith also. Bad things do happen to good people, but I know that it's how we react to these things that makes us a better person. What makes us want to get out of bed in the morning? What I am today are my beliefs in the tomorrows. The Gospel is the "good news" in my life. I know with all my mistakes I can be forgiven through repentance. I know that through Jesus Christ, my sins can be forgiven and I have been blessed in so many ways I can't count. I have learned from my membership in this church that I can overcome my trials through serving others. When I help others I forget to feel sorry for myself. Being a member of His church is who I am and through Jesus Christ' examples I too can become a better person.

How I live my faith

The best days of the week for me come every tuesday, thursday, and sunday. I love to work in the welfare services of the church. As a missionary I donate two days a week to help those patons that need food to fill their bodies and their souls with hope. In my life the hardest trials were as I was so busy trying to put food on the table, I wasn't able to even care about anyone or their needs. It sometimes took everything out of me just to make it from day to day. That is the wonderful blessing the gospel gives, the welfare of not only the body but of the soul also. In my community here in Colorado we also take part with the a taskforce or foodbanks twice a year. Our quilting group also donates our many quilts to the Battered Womens shelter in our area. I have a really great friend and we visit teach every month with other great friends as a program in the church that helps us help others and care for and about them. I really love April and October of every year. The membership of the church have a general conferance with talks and music. The music is the great Mormon Tabernalce Choir. Also our living prophet, Thomas S Monson will give us guidence for our lives. Having a living prophet on the earth today is a great blessing and guidence in our church. We are also blessed to have a Temple here in Colorado. I love to attend the Temple often to feel close to my Heavenly Father and serve others also.
