Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon, and have been all my life as well as my parents and siblings. I'm a native of Colorado and love living here!

About Me

I am a Colorado native and have lived here all my life. I am the third of 4 children with two older sisters and a younger brother. Our family has always been active in the Mormon church and I have been fortunate to serve in numerous poisitions in our church. I attended George Washington High School graduating in 1969. I served a mission for our church in up-state New York, called at the time, the Cumorah Mission. Upon finishing my two year mission, I finished college at BYU where I met my wife and was married in 1974. She is undoubtedly the best thing that has ever happened to me. Looking back at my life, it is easy for me to see that what I am today is in large part due to my wise choice in a marriage companion. We have 4 children, 3 girls and one boy. All my girls are now married and have provided us with 4 beautiful grand children. I find myself much less hurried and stressed at this stage of my life and am able to enjoy these grandchildren immensley. After college, I began working with my father in the dry bean business where I have been since 1975. My kids were always embarassed to tell their friends that their dad was a bean salesman, but I used to tell them that "somebody had to do it."! I love the outdoors and enjoy merely just cutting my lawn! We were blessed to inherit a home in the mountains that has been the great source of continued family get togethers. Our whole family loves to ski, hike and bike ride.

Why I am a Mormon

First and foremost, I am a Mormon because my parents were! Thank goodness for that. I grew up in the Mormon church and slowly developed an appreciation of our unique beliefs and the truthfullness of them all. Upon serving a mission for our church in 1970 - 1972, some amazing things happened to me. Having to teach others about the doctrines of our church really changed me. I began feeling strong spiritual feelings about my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ and the truthfullness of His restored church. Those "testimonial" feelings have been a great source of direction and understanding to me through my life. This church, along with its prophet and apostles have been a wonderful source of guidance and inspiration as how to live and what is expected of me in order to be worthy to live with my Heavenly Father again some day. I revel in the opportunity each Sunday to attend church and renew those "feelings" again and again because I simply know that this church and those feelings are from Him.

How I live my faith

Jesus said in the gospel of John: If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. This has been so true in my life. I have found that the more I live my faith and serve in the church that my testimony of Him continues to grow. Having served a full time mission for two years and serving in various capacities in this church over the years has been a very fulfilling experience. I have served with the youth in Boy Scout positions as well as teaching. Mostly, I have been involved in various leadership positions that have been most rewarding and inpirational. The last eleven years, I have done volunteer work at one of our temples where I have had the opportunity to help visitors who come to our temples, to understand the nature of temple worship and service. All of these experiences have given me the deep satisfaction of serving my Heavenly Father and, in a small way, to pay him back, for the numerous blessings I witness coming my way and the way of my family on a daily basis.
