Hi I'm Shaylyne Little

I am a dancer. I am from San Diego. I am a new convert and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Dance has always been a big passion of mine. I have been dancing since I was eight. Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet: You name it, I did it. Which is why I was on my high schools dance team all four years. I am a graduating senior from high school and I just got baptized on the 30 of July, 2011. I am going to Chico State next year for school and am excited to get involved in the institute program there.

Why I am a Mormon

I love Heavenly Father. He has always taken a special place in my heart. What I didn't know was where this place was. I have been searching all my life for a religion that connects me straight to Him and I finally found what I was looking for. I know that this church is the true church of Jesus Christ and I know the Holy Ghost lives. Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost help guide my life in the right direction. They help me find my path back to living in the Celestial Kingdom with Heavenly Father. I feel within my heart this warmth and strength every time I pray to my Father in Heaven, search the scriptures or go to Church. I see the blessings in my life each and every single day and I am so grateful for them. Heavenly Father gives me the strength to get through all trials that I may face in my life, and I find comfort with Him walking besides me. I love my Heavenly Father and all he does for me, and I know that he loves me too.

How I live my faith

When I got up to Chico, I had a calling within months. My calling is the Compassionate Service Committee, where we plan various service projects where we can serve our fellow neighbors. I love being in the service of others. Other ways I live my faith are by going to church every Sunday on the Sabbath day and reading the scriptures every night before I go to bed. I also pray often: prayer is a direct line to your Father up in Heaven and he will always hear you and answer your prayers. Never be afraid to ask questions and seek answers, Heavenly Father will always be there to answer your prayers. I take several Institute classes during the week up in Chico where I am able to better connect with the Spirit and hear His guidance for me. Learning about the Book of Mormon in class is such a blessing in my life.
