Hi I'm Pat

Every day when I wake up I say..."Yeah....Yeah....It's another day! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of seven children. (therefore, nothing scares me!) I have a bachelor of science degree from Brigham Young University. I grew up as the middle child in a family of all girls except one boy! I love to take pictures and then scrapbook them. I especially love taking pictures of my family and preserving them. I have kept a journal most of my life and I love to go back and read from them. (I have many volumes). I love to KNIT, and SEW. I like to crochet a little but I prefer to knit. I love to quilt also. I love to sew Barbie doll clothes and I love to play Barbies with my grandchildren. I love to travel and see new places. I have been to Egypt, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and The Bahama's. I have traveled across the United States and have visited most every state. I also love to READ. I owned a bookstore for 15 years and I am now retired from that. I am learning to garden. I love to have pretty flowers in my yard. I enjoy being outside in the early morning and going for a walk to enjoy this beautiful world.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be member of the Church of Jesus Christ because I have read the Book of Mormon many many times and I have prayed and received an answer that it is a TRUE book of scripture. I have put this church and its teachings to the test and I have not found anything else to even hold a candle to the witness I have received that it is the same gospel that Jesus Christ taught when he walked on the earth. It is also the same gospel taught by the apostle Paul. It is the same gospel that Abraham was guided to participate in. (And all the prophets in the Old and New Testament). I know that Joseph Smith was the man the Lord chose to restore HIS gospel back to the earth after it had been distorted and changed thru over 500 years of time from when Christ taught it. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us that ever live on the earth and the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints has ALL the keys and answers to that PLAN. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that HE is guiding and directing the affairs of this church. He wants me to be happy and by living the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (which are HIS teachings) I am happy! I know HE atoned for my sins and your sins and everyone sins. I want HIM to know that I appreciate HIM by obeying HIM.

How I live my faith

I love to be involved in the community and church that I live in. I find it very important to read from scripture DAILY and to PRAY daily to keep connected to my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. I want them to know that I love them and that I am willing to stay in touch with them thru prayer to show my appreciation and love for THEM and to receive guidance and direction from THEM. Another way I show my appreciation and love for THEM is to serve others. I currently take care of an 81 year old woman who needed someone to care for her. she is a distant relative of my husband. My son and husband live with me. I find it very fulfilling to serve others. I think the reason it is fulfilling is because of the scripture in Mosaic 2;17 which says "that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." It's important for me to be serving others because I want to be serving God and letting HIM know thru my actions that I appreciate HIM. In the past I have served many different age groups such as the women of the church , the teenage girls, and also the young children of the church. It doesn't matter to me where I serve or what I am doing because all of it is for THE LORD.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons are absolutely Christians! I know Jesus Christ is my SAVIOR and that HE atoned for my sins. Everything I do as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ is because I have made covenants to follow him and strive to build HIS KINGDOM. I know HE knows me and loves me. I love HIM very much. I think actions are more convincing than words so when I say that I MORMONS ARE CHRISTIANS I hope we are showing to the world thru our charitable actions that we Love the Savior and are willing to make personal sacrifices to share his wonderful gospel with others. I have 4 sons and 3 daughters. 3 of my sons have gone on 2 year missions to share the Gospel Of Jesus Christ with others in the world. My 4th son will do the same in 2 years when he is 19 years old. Giving of our time to share the gospel with others and serving others in any way we can is what the LORD has asked us to do in the scriptures. He has given us the plea to COME FOLLOW ME and The Savior spent his WHOLE ENTIRE life giving to others. By serving others here on the earth we can become like the Savior. Yes we are indeed Christians!! Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Of course there is a prophet like Moses alive today. Why would a loving God send prophets to the earth in earlier days but not to our day? Does he not care about us today as much as he did then? Of course he DOES. I have been in the presence of living Latter Day prophets and I KNOW they are just as much a prophet as was Moses or Abraham. I love to read in the Bible the words of the Ancient Prophets and I equally love to hear the living prophet on the earth today speak. Jospeh Smith was the first prophet for our time. (He lived in the 1800's) Thomas S Monson is God's chosen prophet today. He speaks to us the words the LORD himself would have us hear in our day. His counsel and advice are wise and we would do well to give stict head to his words today just as the ancient people were always better off when they obeyed the ancient prophets I KNOW THERE IS A LIVING PROPHET ON THE EARTH TODAY! What is being a Mormon like?

Being a MORMON is AWESOME! Why is that? Well....WE are here on this earth to have JOY. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints encourages it's members to do things that bring true joy. These things are: Personal scripture study daily, going to church each sabath day, paying tithing, and obeying God's laws. When a person obey's God's laws they receive great joy. This joy I speak of is not pleasure or fleeting happiness....(the kind that comes from worldly activities). Mormons are also encouraged to serve others. We are given lots and lots of opportunities to do things for others. Service to others brings great JOY, Obedience to God's commandments brings great PEACE. So.....being a Mormon can be very rewarding and satisfying if a person is active in this church and actively obeys the teachings of the Savior. Show more Show less
