Hi I'm Wendi

I'm a stay-at-home mom and former middle school teacher. I sing, play the piano, and care deeply about education. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom of two children, a girl and a baby boy. I love being with my children and helping them discover the world one day at a time. Before I had children, I taught American history to middle school students. I loved teaching and enjoy continuing to teach my children. Education is very important to me, and I recently helped to start a charter school. I also love music and enjoy playing the piano and singing. In college, I studies secondary education with an emphasis on history and English teaching. I also had the opportunity to study aboard in Israel for a semester. I love learning about new cultures and places and enjoy reading all types of books, especially historical fiction and fantasy books.

Why I am a Mormon

I love Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father, and I want to return to them someday. This is why I'm a Mormon. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and by following the doctrines of the church, I will be able to return to my Father and my Savior one day. I also love the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon and the New Testament. I love to read the words of the Savior and I turn to the scriptures often for guidance and comfort. I'm so grateful for the courage Joseph Smith had to follow the direction of the Savior to restore His church to the earth. I'm also grateful for the guidance of a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson and the other apostles. My family means the world to me, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides a way for me to be with them forever by making covenants in holy temples and by keeping the commandments. I was raised in the church and have been a member of the church since I was baptized at age 8, but I had to find out on my own that the church is Christ true church again on the earth. I prayed many months as a teenager to know if what I had been taught as a child was true. I have received countless impression since then that have confirmed the truth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know the Church is true just as I know I love my husband and my children. Jesus Christ lives and has restored His church to the earth once again, for which I am forever grateful.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by reading the scriptures, praying, teaching principles from the scriptures to my children and trying myself everyday to be more like Jesus. I also visit members of my church congregation to make sure they are happy and well. In the past, I've volunteered many hours organizing activities and providing Gospel instruction to the female youth group of our congregation. I also love helping out with the music in the children's sunday school. Currently, every month, I teach a lesson on a principal of the Gospel to our women's organization, during the last hour of church on Sunday. The time I spend in the scriptures and reading the words of modern day prophets preparing to teach at church and my children, helps me to internalize the teachings of Jesus Christ.
