Hi I'm Casey

I'm a Lover and a Fighter, I fight for those I love, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Currently a Missionary in the Last Frontier of Alaska. I love sports of all kinds. Hockey and swimming are a few passions of mine. I coached Swimming for 4 years, and loved every minute of it. I've worked with children most of my life and I love being around kids. Their divine innocence amazed me. They are so curious about life and i have tried to be just as curious as them. Some, if not many, would say I 'Live Curiously'. I love learning about life and the adventures it has to offer. Music is a way that I love to understand life better. Its the language of the soul. I love learning about music and expressing my feeling about life through it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am mormon for a very simple reason. It is where God wants his children. Plain and simple really. Why one might ask. Here is why. It is His church for one, and i know that by learning about Joseph Smith and his life. About the Book of Mormon and the doctrine it contains. While i did grow up in the Lords church, I didn't always know it was true. I had to test myself at an early age, around 14 or so, and figure out, is this what i wanted. My answer from God was simple, "yes". It came as a still small voice just as the scriptures says is will, and it was powerful. But not a shout or a shaking kind of powerful. Powerful to my soul. I knew it was from God because I had been taught what it is like when God is speaking to you. For me it was a very calming peace. A peace that I knew it was from God. That is why I am Mormon. Plain and simple, its true!

How I live my faith

I live my faith now by trying to walk in my Saviors footsteps. I am a missionary. His decree to his apostles was to go and baptize the nations. I am trying to, as a disciple, be apart of the decree. The lord never intended for religion to be a few hours a week kind of thing. Religion should be a lifestyle. I have made this gospel my life. I love being a missionary and being able to wear the name of Jesus Christ on my heart every day. What a privilege.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Casey
Imagine this, an ice cream truck driver pulls you over, or rather attempts to to give you a speeding ticket. What would happen? Nothing right. Why? But if a police officer pulls you over, you must abide by the laws, you must pay that speeding ticket. Why is that. Because the officer has authority to do so, he has the credentials, he has the right to give you a speeding ticket and you must abode by those laws. The ice cream truck driver does not have the right authority. In the same sense, when one is baptized, if it is not done with the right authority, it is not validated in the eyes of God. One must be baptized by His authority in order for that necessary saving ordinance to be performed correctly and validated by the holy ghost. Think back to when Jesus was baptized, the holy ghost was present, it verified the ordinance done, and all that were present noted the Holy Ghosts' presence. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Casey
Grace is the power by which we are saved. However, not everyone will be saved. How is this possible when the Bible says, but grace are all men saved. Yes that is absolutely true, it IS by grace we are saved, but that does not mean all will be saved. Grace is the power by which we are saved, it is works and becoming Christ-like that is how we earn grace, or the power to be saved. All in all it is all through Christ, his atonement and example that we can and, if we do our part, will be saved. Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Casey
Well, to put it simply, it is true. The truth has and will continue to go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, as Joseph Smith said. This is the Church of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Casey
Missionaries share a message about Christ. His eternal sacrifice for our sins. They talk of his love for each and every one of us. They talk about how his original primitive church that has existed since the time of Adam has been restored through a young Prophet. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Casey
Well lets take a second and define a Christian. One who believes in Christ and follows his teachings. So, are members of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of latter day saints, followers of Christ. Yes. We strive just as you may as well to follow his teachings. We are Christians, plain and simple. Think of it this way. The church that was set up by Christ would have his name in it. Thus the name, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Show more Show less

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Casey
Love the sinner, not the sin. We do not uplift or support it in any way. We try to help those overcome this serious and difficult urge of same-gender attraction. To some it is very serious, they feel they are 'borne' that way. Others feel great peer pressure, some are simply curious. Not matter the case, it is simply wrong. It is not ordained of God, and God does not take it lightly. To those who may struggle with this very urge, as you avoid it, and try to overcome it, God will strengthen you. Some people struggle with an addiction toward pornography, or cigarettes, some it might a seemingly over-powering urge toward alcohol, or to some, same-gender attraction. No matter the urge, they are all not of God and all Satan's devices to bring down worthy and righteous souls down to his level of misery. The family is ordained of God and it is our responsibility to uplift and support the family in any way we can. Show more Show less
