Hi I'm Shauna

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the South and consider myself a country girl. I love being in nature because it makes me feel close to my Father in Heaven. I grew up in a large family with 12 kids, and learned to work hard and to love the joy that children bring to a family. I've been married to my wonderful husband for 6 years, and we have two beautiful twin girls who are three years old. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to stay home with them, and that I can be there to love, to teach, and to care for them, and to just have fun with them! We are going to start homeschool preschool soon, which I am excited about! I love to learn! I am a self proclaimed nerd, and enjoy reading books, and learning new things. Whether music, art, literature, history, or science, it doesn't matter. I love to learn about this wonderful world Heavenly Father made for us, and finding all the ways it testifies of Him.

Why I am a Mormon

Since I was young my parents have taught me the principles of the gospel. They taught me to have faith and to keep the commandments. They also taught me that I would have to gain a testimony for myself. They encouraged me to pray and to ask the Lord for my own witness. I can honestly say that in my own soul, down to the very depths of me, that I know that the Gospel is true, that this church is Christ's church on the earth today. There have been many times when my faith has been tried and tested, and I have to ask for a renewal of that witness to keep my testimony strong. Every day I have to feed my testimony, so that it stays strong. It's a constant renewal process. I am grateful for the doctrine of repentance, so that I can repent for my mistakes and try again. I love the plan of our Heavenly Father. I love that He sent us here to Earth in families, to teach us how to love and to care and to serve one another. I love that the family is central to His plan, that I'll be able to live with my family forever. My family is the thing I love most in this world, and I want to be with them forever. I'm grateful for my Savior and His Atoning Sacrifice that makes it possible for me to repent and to live again with my Heavenly Father in an eternal family. I love my Heavenly Father and I know he loves me.

How I live my faith

I currently teach the 6-7 year olds on Sunday. It is a very rewarding experience to teach them and see their understandings blossom. They in turn have taught me a lot too. I enjoy making friends and serving those that I visit teach. Mostly I just try to live my day to day life as Jesus would have me do. I pray for guidance and try to act accordingly. I'm not perfect, but I do my best. I value virtue and honesty highly and try to live my life with those values. I feel really strongly that we should treat others how we would like to be treated, and I try to teach my children that too. I want to always remember that kindness begins with me.
