Hi I'm Katie

I'm a Mormon. I love music, non-profits, politics and people. I love to travel. I love spending time with my kids.

About Me

My dad was in the military, so I've seen lots of interesting places like Panama and Alaska. I am grateful for my education and my life experiences. I have met many amazing and kind people, and am learning to be more kind myself. I used to be a board member of a non-profit group called "All One People," a group that builds schools and facilitates education in parts of Kenya. I love to sing and sang for Opera Colorado for two seasons. Music is a beautiful way to express. I love to sing and play with my children, one of whom has learned "Twinkle, Twinkle" recently on the piano. I love to dance, as well, but I'm a little pigeon-toed. :) Teaching children, though, has been my favorite occupation so far. I taught a music class for toddlers for three years--so rewarding! I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents were converts to the church, and bore strong witness to me of the Mormon (Latter Day Saint) church. The more life experience I receive and the longer I live on the earth, I realize that nothing makes more sense or possesses more tangible benefit to me in my life than the Gospel of Jesus Christ and my testimony of His church on the earth. Nothing motivates more to do good and be good. Nothing brings more satisfaction and joy. Nothing answers the questions of this life more thoroughly and completely. It is there for the asking for the humble followers of God and seekers of truth. What I read in books and literature and experience in the world reflects many truths, but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints provides continual growth and learning, and offers the complete and whole truth. I am a better person because I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I lead the young women in our area. We recently collected canned and dry food items for Colorado Cares Day. We perform service projects and spend time doing fun and uplifting activities every week. We also meet on Sundays, where we learn the gospel and teach values to the young women. I spend a lot of time teaching my children at home. We are learning now about courage and serving others. We are learning about Jesus Christ and His visit to the New World. We walked our neighbor's dog together yesterday. :) I sing in church. I spend a lot of time getting ketchup out of my kids pants. :) I also stay involved politically and my family and I try to make lots of time for grandparents and extended family members. We visit the elderly.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Katie
We need a Savior so we know someone loves us no matter what. He paid a price for our souls. Because of the price our Savior paid for us, His love is infinite. Show more Show less
