Hi I'm Meagan

I'm a cosmetologist, a lover of snowboarding and cycling and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the only girl in my family, I have four, fun loving brothers and two wonderful parents. I received my professional cosmetology license when I was in high school and I love doing hair! I love to spend time with my family, usually in the great outdoors, doing things like snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, camping and all that fun, active stuff. I also love to read and relax. I love music, singing, and dancing (but never in public).

Why I am a Mormon

There comes a point in everyones life when they need to decide for themselves how they want to live. You no longer rely on the beliefs or faith of your parents but on your own beliefs. When that point came in my life I realized that being a mormon and striving my best to live the gospel principles was something that really mattered to me. I looked at the people around me and I saw how lost and confused they were in their lives. Then I looked at my life and at what I had been taught, that I'm a child of a loving God (Heavenly Father), that I have worth, that my loving Heavenly Father has a plan for me and for my family and that he's given us the gospel to help us know how to be happy. I saw the stability, love and confidence that comes from living what Heavenly Father has taught and I knew that there was no other way to be truly happy to live the way our Heavenly Father wants us to.

How I live my faith

At this time in my life I am living my faith by serving a full time mission. For eighteen months it's my privilege to teach others about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the same Gospel and teachings that He taught when He was on the earth. I strive everyday to be an example of what I believe and live the way Jesus taught.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Our purpose in life is to be able to return to live with our Heavenly Father (God). We know that we must be clean and pure to live in his presence and all of us make mistakes, or sin, that makes us unclean. Through Jesus Christ and what he did in his life, suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and dying on the cross, (what we know to be called to Atonement) we are able to repent of our sins and become clean. Repentance includes recognizing our sin, asking God for forgiveness, repairing any damage that our actions may have caused to those around us, stop making those same mistakes and trying our best to live God's commandments. Only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and sincere repentance are we able to return to live with our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

We believe in the Bible because it testifies of Jesus Christ and we believe in Jesus Christ. The Old Testament is a record written by and about prophets that testify of the coming of Jesus Christ. The New Testament is written by apostles and followers of Jesus Christ that tell of His life, mission, and ministry on earth and also about the establishment of the original church that Christ organized upon the earth. If we did not have the Bible we wouldn't know anything about the life of Christ in Jerusalem. Show more Show less
