Hi I'm Kolby

I grew up in Idaho. I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a pretty small town in Idaho. I was born with an underdeveloped heart so when I was about 2 weeks old I had a heart transplant. That was about 20 years ago and I'm still going strong. I have a wonderful family that I love dearly. I enjoy sports and outdoor recreation. I played basketball and track, I love to hike, fish, hunt, camp and basically anything outdoors. I love movies and being with my friends and family and having fun. I'm currently serving a mission in Southeast Texas and I love it. It is the most fulifilling experience of my life. I am a normal person striving to make the most of the live that has been given to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have a testimony that Christ's true and living church was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I was born into the church and have been actively involved in it my whole life. My testimony has come through years of being involved in church activities, prayer, reading the scriptures and experiencing the blessings that come from living the gospel. I can truly say that I have seen the Lord's hand in my life. I know that He is always watching over me and He loves and knows me. My life would be so much harder if I didn't have this gospel and the influence of the Lord to guide and comfort me. This church is the true church of Jesus Christ. I know it with all my heart. I have studied carefuly, pondered and prayed to gain a sure witness for myself. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and the way it's directed my life. I will continue to live it forever. I am striving to live the motto of former Church President John Taylor, "The Kingdom of God or Nothing."

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a two year misson in Southeast Texas. My mission is by far the greatest most rewarding thing i've done so far in my life. It is such a blessing to get to dedicate my life for two years to teaching others about Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. Every day I go around and teach people I meet how to come closer to the Savior. And in the process of doing so I've brought myself closer as well. It's definitely a win-win scenario. I love learning about Jesus Christ and how I can bring my life in closer harmony with His, and I love helping others to do the same. I am not perfect, but I am doing my best to live the gospel of Jesus Christ and in the process become who He wants me to be. I am striving each day to give a little more to Him. I know that if we turn our lives over to Him then he can make immeasurably more of us than we could ever make of ourselves.
