Hi I'm Tyler

I grew up in Western Washington and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love Western Washington with it's green, lush beauty and all the diverse things it has to offer. This is why I've stayed here all these years. I work as a CT/x-ray technologist in a couple local hospitals. I've been married for 20 years to my sweetheart and we are blessed with 3 children. I enjoy the outdoors (camping, hiking and rafting) and get out as much as my schedule allows me to. My true passion is music. I own a small project recording studio. It's great to hear and work with so many different types of music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church but I found out on my own and for myself that it is where I'm supposed to be. I did this through studying what I was being taught and praying about it. I sincerely asked my Heavenly Father if these prinicpals were true and important for me in my life. I remember like yesterday when I received an answer, a warm and eveloping feeling came to me and I knew it was right and true. Also, I've found by living the things I am taught I am happier and I feel like I have purpose. Here's what I know to be true. I know that God lives and He loves me. I know that Jesus Christ is the son of God and He was sent to earth to teach us how to live. I know that The Bible is the word of God. I know that The Book of Mormon is the word of God also. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that we have a prophet on the earth today by the name of Thomas S. Monson who leads and guides us. I know that when I live in accordance to Gods will and follow the teachings of His scriptures and His prophets that I am a happier, more complete person.

How I live my faith

I serve in our local church as secretary, helping our local leaders stay organized. I try to be a good example to those around me by being kind and helpful and serve others when possible. I try and follow Matthew 22:37-39 the best I can. I try to be a good father and husband by applying the principles I'm taught. I love the Lord and am grateful for all that I have and all that I am.

Are Mormons Christians?

Gordon B. Hinckley, prior President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1995-2008, said “We are Christians in a very real sense and that is coming to be more and more widely recognized. Once upon a time people everywhere said we are not Christians. They have come to recognize that we are, and that we have a very vital and dynamic religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. We, of course, accept Jesus Christ as our Leader, our King, our Savior...the dominant figure in the history of the world, the only perfect Man who ever walked the earth, the living Son of the living God. He is our Savior and our Redeemer through whose atoning sacrifice has come the opportunity of eternal life. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints pray and worship in the name of Jesus Christ. He is the center of our faith and the head of our Church. The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ and witnesses of His divinity, His life, and His Atonement.” Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another witness that Jesus Christ really lived, that He was and is God’s Son. It contains the writings of ancient prophets. One of these, Lehi, lived in Jerusalem around 600 B.C. God commanded Lehi to lead a small group of people to the American continent. There they became a great civilization. God continued to call prophets among these people. The Book of Mormon is a collection of the writings of their prophets and record keepers. It is named after Mormon, one of the last of these ancient prophets. These prophets knew about Heavenly Father’s plan for His children and the mission of Jesus Christ. They recorded that Christ appeared, after His Resurrection, to the people in America, taught them His gospel, and formed His Church among them. The book contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, testifying of His Atonement and His love. It supports and verifies the Bible. The Book of Mormon concludes with a great promise that those who read it and sincerely pray about it can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true Moroni 104. Show more Show less
