Hi I'm Dan Frakes

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

About Me

I am very happily married to my wife of 31 years. We have 5 children and 6 grandchildren. We love our family and know that the greatest joy to be realized in this life and in eternity will be the result of our family associations. I am trained as a CPA and have worked as a financial officer in the construction and funeral service industries. Any free time that I have I spend with family, and these activities typically involve time spent in the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was raised as a member of the LDS church, and my father joined the church several years after marrying my mother. We did not become active in the church until my early teenage years, and it was during this time that I gained a personal testimony of the Book of Mormon and that God answers our prayers. My testimony was further strengthened by service as a full-time missionary, where I received confirmation about the need for priesthood restoration, the significance of the work completed by the prophet Joseph Smith, and the central role of Jesus Christ as the savior and redeemer of the world. This testimony has given purpose and meaning to my life and a lifetime of experience has given me the assurance that God, my Heavenly Father, knows and cares about His children, and He has provided a way for us to realize true happiness and joy. My ultimate desire as a disciple of Jesus Christ is to live my life in such a way as to become like Him.

How I live my faith

Over the years, I have learned that daily scripture study, personal prayer and service to others are the most important things I need to do to become more Christ-like. Early in my youth I was given a promise that I would have the opportunity to serve in the Church and that service would bless my life in a variety of ways. That promise has been fulfilled countless times and I feel gratitude every day for what I have learned and experienced as a result of these service opportunities. I currently have the opportunity to serve the youth of our church. I hope I can touch them in the same way that adult leaders influenced me as a youth.
