Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. I'm an Osteopathic Physician in training. I'm a husband and a father. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three very energetic boys, as they all are. I'm a Family Medicine physician, in my last year of residency. I'm the chief resident. I love spending time with my wife and boys. I like to play basketball, volleyball, and golf. I enjoy drawing caricatures, religious art, and designing computerized art.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church with parents that were and are still active today. I was baptized at the age of eight. When I was 16 years old, I decided that I needed to know for a surety that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true before I would go on a mission at the age of 19. So, I prayed about it. I asked Heavenly Father. I had faith that if I asked with a sincere heart, Heavenly Father would answer my prayer through the power of the Holy Ghost (James 1:5 & Moroni 10:4). He did just that. I was overcome with a feeling of peace and a burning in my chest (the good kind). I knew that He had answered my prayer. I rededicated myself to the building up of His kingdom here on earth, and prepared myself for what came to be the best two years of my life in the Philippines. I know that this church is true. I know that the prophet Joseph Smith was called to be the Lord's instrument in the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful that we have a prophet today to guide us through modern day revelation. It's important to me that God still talks with his prophets in our day.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday. I am the Elder's Quorum President. I am a leader of a group of men ages 18 and older. I help them in any way that I can. When members move in and out of the area I help to organize service to assist in the moving process. I visit member's homes with my counselors to help edify and uplift one another. I teach gospel lessons and help to organize/plan church activities. I enjoy going out with the missionaries in our area. I use to teach Primary children, ages 4-5. I prepared weekly gospel lessons and activities. I've also been a Sunday School teacher to the 14-16 year olds, was an assistant scout master, secretary in the Young Men's presidency, and 1st counselor in the Sunday School presidency. My wife, three sons, and I have Family Home Evening on Monday nights. This allows us some time together as a family to do an activity, help teach our children gospel lessons, and to discuss things that we can do better as a family.
