Hi I'm Stacey

I dream big, work hard, & love the lord. I'm a wife, mother, musician, homemaker, teacher, gardener & friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my husband. I get to stay home and be a full time mother. I get to home school our 3 boys. I enjoy working in my gardening. I am old fashioned. I think food tastes better when it is made with love. I am interested in natural healing. I use essential oils, and have been thankful for the power it gives me be self-sufficient with health. Music is like air to me. If I am not singing, writing, listening, or making music I am not happy. I like to create. I enjoy the seasons of life and I am grateful that things change.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents came from different religions. I found it confusing that I could feel the spirit in both religions. That made it difficult for me to commit to one. I thought if there is one God, then he would have one church. There is one Jesus who established his church while on earth. Where was his one true church? His apostles where killed. So order in his church died. Many precious truths were left; good people took these truths with the word of God to continue having a church. If a mirror is broken or cracked, the refection becomes distorted. The mirror cannot be fixed, it has to be replaced. So the answer I found to why I could feel the Holy Spirit in different religions was this: the religions of the world have truth. The Holy Spirit testifies of truth, all truth no matter where it is found. But just like a broken mirror that has distortions, each religion has a different view of those truths. God wants to give the world a clearer picture. A prefect picture of him, his plan, and our purpose on earth. He needed to restore his church to give us that clear picture. That is what I have found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am trying to be like Jesus. So I obey his commandments. I pray and read the scriptures. I teach my children about the truths I have learned. The biggest way I live my religion is in my heart. I try to love my enemies and bless those that hurt me. I allow my heart to change and trust in God’s will. I feel strongly that living my faith comes from my heart. It is more about who I am than what I do or have done.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

For me grace means God wants to save us. Grace is the reason the atonement was made. We must learn how to use and accept the atonement into our lives. Without understanding the gift is worthless. We must do everything we can to be like Jesus to fully partake in the atonement. Christ will make up the rest, if we do our best. One gift of God that is free to all men is the resurrection. What you have done with your life and who you have become will sill play a role in the gift of resurrection, but it will still come to all. Show more Show less

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

I think self-reliance helps our self-esteem. It also helps in our ability to serve and be more like Jesus. I know for me it has brought a peace of mind that I can take care of my family in an emergency with food, shelter, first aid, and finding solutions. Another part of self-reliance for me is the spiritual aspect. I have my own witness and testimony that God lives. I know where I can find answers to life's difficulties. Personal Revelation cannot come unless we are spiritually self reliant, and revelation is one of the most precious gifts God has given me. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

The responsibilities that comes with holding the priesthood of God, helps men become more in tune with their hearts and gives them reasons to serve others. I see priesthood as a special school for men to learn to love and be more like Jesus. I think men also need those responsibilities to keep them focused on Christ. Their must be order and because of our different perspectives and talents; I can see how men would find more fulfillment through priesthood service and women more fulfillment through motherhood. Relief Society is for women to practice our talents to love, lead and serve. In my marriage I am truly one with my husband. We walk side by side, hand in hand. I run the house how ever I see fit and my husband support me %100. We have never made a decision until we both independently have come the same answer. My husband could not be who he is without me to love, accept and support him. I think having that unity with my husband gives me empowerment. I am loved and treated like a queen. Show more Show less

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

True faith in Jesus Christ effects change. We would obey his commandments and be like him. The better we are individually the better our relationships will be. We would know all things are possible with him, believe in miracles and change. We would have confidence that life will work out no matter what and have the strength to endure and continue through our difficulties. We would have special gifts of the spirit that come only when we obey his commands. In regards to the marriage relationship we should be one (spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically). If each spouse is one with God, they become one easier. In my marriage we don't fight or argue. Our secret: it isn't about us, we seek God's will then God answers our prayers and we move forward together as one. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Every woman is unique. We are all different just like anywhere else in the world. We have single mothers, widows, mothers, women with careers outside the home, and women who have never married. We all have different talents and interests. I think the women in the church are strong confident women. A man of God is responsible to treat all women with respect, gentleness and kindness. God is no respecter of men and sees men and women equally. Men are the head of the family but a husband and wife should be one in the Lord so neither is ahead of the other if it is done right. What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost can "teach you all things" (John 14:26). Knowledge is power. I had learned in school that I wasn't very smart, was powerless to learn and shouldn't even try. I know I do have power to learn and have gained knowledge that can only come by the Holy Ghost. With the gift of the Holy Ghost also comes personal revelation. To me personal revelation is being able to make every decision in life perfectly. Personal revelation is personal, it is meant for you, and only you can receive it. No one else can make your decisions for you. Show more Show less
