Hi I'm Matt

I grew up on a farm. I now work as a restaurant manager. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a bit of a country fella, having grown up on a property right next to my grandparents sugar cane farm. I always loved the freedom of open space and never would have expected to end up living in the city. While at school I studied Japanese. After graduating I worked for a couple of years before serving a mission to Japan. I came home and went to University for a little over a year before deciding to go back to work while deciding what I really want to do for a career.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and grew up learning about Jesus Christ, the apostles, the Book of Mormon and other things. I always kind of knew that the things I was learning were true but not necessarily at a conscious level. It wasn't until my mid to late teens that I actually began to wonder whether the things I learnt at church were really true. It took me a few years to decide that I knew it to be true. I never had any single event that made me go 'this is true!' but it was instead a culmination of years of experiences. I think the biggest factor in my decision was that I realized that I am happier when I am following the teachings of Jesus Christ, His apostles and ancient and modern prophets. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me the strength to keep going when things get tough and the guidance in how I should live my life when things are going well.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best that I can. I'm not perfect and when I falter I know I can rely on Christ to help me get back up again.
