Hi I'm Julie

I'm a student at a local University, a substitute teacher on the side, I own a small business, oh, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

My life revolves equally around 4 things. Family, Church, Friends and School... However, I'm very diverse in what I do and who I am. I love to try new things, make new things and meet new people. I go to school and am majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences (aka the jack of all trades degree) with a teachers Certificate. I love to organize activities for the singles in the area. So If you are single and either live or want to visit the kyle stake area let me know and I'll let you know of all the fun things coming up!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church however, I haven't always known that being LDS was the path I wanted to take. I went back and forth my whole life but deep inside I knew the truth. I know that the Church is the true church because of the blessings that I receive, the answers to prayers, and the Holy Ghost I feel when I pray and study the gospel.

How I live my faith

I am very active in the singles scene in the stake and I also attend institute weekly (well, when school is in) Which is all great fun and fulfilling. Its a great way to meet and associate with amazing people. I also am the Visiting Teaching Coordinator (for those that don't know what that means; Visiting Teaching is a program where the sisters in the ward visit other sisters to make sure they are okay and to find out if they need anything, also its a way to help the members get to know each other better. All I do is basically make sure people know their assignments and etc.. ) I love my calling, mostly because I love anything that forces me to meet new people!

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Julie
In my experience I have noticed, and I myself have been found guilty of, over generalizing or judging things that you don't understand. When you see a bunch of people that don't drink or smoke or have pre-marital sex when the rest of the world barley blinks an eye at the idea its easy to judge something like that but then you throw in the temple and the fact that its closed to those that aren't of our religion and ... well I can see how people may inappropriately categorize us as a "cult" However, we of course, aren't a cult. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is simply the same church as Christs Church and has been restored on the earth today. We believe that Christ atoned for our sins and through the grace of God all men can be saved. Show more Show less
