Hi I'm Glen

I moved to Colorado 21 years ago and never left. Good family, good friends, good life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After moving to Colorado in my younger days, I quickly fell in love with everything Colorado. I grew up hiking and camping in the many remote locations Colorado has to offer. From hiking to fishing to hockey, skiing and even kayaking the word "bored" just doesn't exist. Now I get to pass those things on to my kids. I'm the proud father of five kids. Never thought I would have five kids but wouldn't change it for the world. They are great, and all so unique. I'm probably the biggest kids in my house so my poor wife really has 6 kids to manage most days but every once in a while (I'm told) I find a way to contribute to the cause. We're surrounded by great friends and family too. We're not perfect, myself I'd say I'm the farthest from it, but we try to do the right thing. We have arguments and all that stuff too but overall I'd have to say we're a generally happy bunch.

Why I am a Mormon

I was surprised to find that when I began to learn about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that much of what I learned was in harmony with things I already believed. Growing up we went to church regularly but after a while it became something where we only went on major Holidays like Easter and Christmas and I missed it. I went to a few churches where I lived and found it enjoyable but none more than any other. What made going to church with "Mormons" different was that it was like coming home. I'm a Mormon because I find happiness here, because its my choice to go and my chooice to serve other people. I'm a Mormon because I found answers to my biggest quesitons about life and I'm still finding more to learn. I like that I can learn somethig from someone half my age and twice my age in the same day, sometimes the same hour. I like that my Bishop gets up and goes to work every day, just like me. I'm a Mormon because, by my own experiences I have come to know for myself the value of following Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

This is the part where I remind you that I'm the most fallable person I know. I do my best adn sometimes my best is failing but I keep trying. One of the great blessing i have realized by striving to live my faith is that as I take on more I am blessed with the ability to handle more. Having 5 children is a challenge, I would never hide that and it come with the challenge of balancing priorities. But, I find that as my wife and I strive to be faithful, we are able to make time for each other, for our fmaily, and for serving others. What a blessing, despite my own faults.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Glen
While I would support that we "revere" Joseph Smith as a prophet and for his works to help in the Resotration of Christ's church to the earth, we do not worship him. We do worship Heavenly Father God and his son Jesus Christ, the very same as described in the Holy Bible. Joseph Smith was a great example of faith and humility and like other prophets was aided by and sometimes even chastized by the hand of the Almighty. Show more Show less
