Hi I'm Dustin

I'm a husband, a brother, and a son. I'm a contractor, a martial arts instructor, and an artist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a devoted husband who is married to a beautiful, blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl who keeps me grounded and focused. I enjoy doing and learning many things, but if I could only do two things that I really love it would be teaching martial arts and cartooning. I do believe in having balance in all areas of life - physical, mental, social, and spiritual. I like to stay in shape by running and working out. I also like to golf. I like to watch movies. I really enjoy cartoons and comics! I appreciate all forms of music, but my favorites are 80s rock and soundtracks. I like science fiction, adventure, and suspense novels, but I also get motivated by reading success, leadership, and self-help books. I really like studying and discussing the gospel. I have served in the military and believe in being a patriot. I believe I live in the greatest country on earth and feel an obligation to uphold and support our rights and freedoms. I am proud of my Japanese-American heritage and was fortunate to serve as a missionary in Japan. I like to be around positive people. They keep me motivated to do better. I want to raise a good, honorable, family who knows that true happiness comes from living the gospel, serving others, and working hard for worthwhile pursuits.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I will always honor and remember the miraculous conversion story of my father and the decision he made to dedicate himself to the truth by being a righteous example, active member of the church, and a worthy priesthood holder. He is a good example of serving others. My mother is also an example of compassionate service. She is a living testament of kindness, patience, and loving others. Because of the examples of my parents' marriage and devotion to God I have always known the goodness of the gospel and the blessings it brings to faithful followers. I have not always made the best decisions or been a perfect example, but I have never doubted the truth of the restored gospel. I have never doubted the witness of the Holy Ghost in my life. It has always guided me, even when I didn't know it at the time. I have seen many trials, but also many miracles. God has shown me great blessings through the callings and responsibilities He has given me. I have read the Book of Mormon many times over and know the power it has to inspire and teach me marvelous things. I have no doubt it is the word of God, and I will never deny the truth. It fathoms me that others would read the Book of Mormon and the experiences of Joseph Smith and not feel the spirit of God testifying of the truth. To those of you who are earnestly seeking for answers and a more complete life, I know you will find them in the restored gospel and in the message of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

Everyone has been given spiritual gifts and talents. I believe God has blessed me with talents that I can use to help others. I truly believe in serving others. It is in serving others that we lift and strengthen both them and ourselves. I believe I live my faith by being a good friend, serving in the church, and becoming a better person. I feel we are all in different areas of life and we should not judge people simply because they have a difference of opinion. Also, none of us are perfect and we all need help from each other. If we concentrate on what brings people together we can build a better world and life for ourselves, our families and neighbors, and we can ultimately, turn our enemies into friends. I believe in appreciating what we have been given. If we don't appreciate what we have we cannot be happy.
