Hi I'm Jeremy

I thought Mormons were a Cult! Boy was I wrong! I am a proud Christian Latter Day Saint. They call us Mormons!

About Me

My name is Jeremy. My friends call me J, J-Bone, J-Rone, Welch, Welchanator, Welchie. I can be found on facebook through Welch33@gmail.com for more info. I am from Oklahoma. I have played sports my whole life. I enjoy all kinds of music people and things to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Christian Latter Day Saint because I have experimented upon this gospel and found it to be true. It has brought me closer to my Father in Heaven and the Savior Jesus Christ. I used to think it was all false but something happened a couple of years ago when I met with some missionaries and began to read the Book of Mormon. It truly is a sacred record of Holy scripture. I am so thankful to the Lord for the Restoration of his church and the Priesthood. The Book is Blue The Church is True and Jesus is Mormon too.... This is actually just a joke. We are actually Christians and have been nicknamed Mormons because we use the Bible as well as the Book of Mormon. We haven't taken the name of Mormon or anyone else upon us. People know us as Mormons so they call us that, but we are Christians and as so followers of Christ called by his name. I know Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. That he suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and was crucified on the cross for the sins of the world. I believe he ressurected on the third day. I have accepted him as savior and asked my Heavenly Father to forgive me of my sins. I have followed my saviors example by making a covenant with God to keep all his commandments. I have been baptized by someone holding the authourity from God-the Holy Melchizidek Priesthood. I then have had someone holding that same authourity place hands on my head giving me the Holy Spirit. I have promised and am determined to be true to those promises I made at Baptism by living them throughout the rest of my life. I have been so blessed in doing so. My joy, my knowledge, my light has increased. I echo all the Prophets and Apostles of The Lord and Testify that God Lives, Jesus is the Christ, the Saviour and Redeemer of all mankind. That they did endeed appear to a 14yr old boy to restore the Priesthood, Christ literal Church and the Fullness of the Everlasting Gospel. I know this because of what I have experiecned. The Holy Ghost is real.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by acting on my faith and watching it change me for the better. Faith is the action, Hope is the Desire and energy of heart. I have hope in the Atonement of Jesus Christ, the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind who gave his life as a ransom. Who suffered bled and died to bring to pass the eternal life and immortality of man. I live my faith by striving to become like this very man. I will try and try and try again knowing and trusting my Father in Heaven will help me progress along my path until I arrive and see him as he is.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Family relationships can last forever—not just for this life. Just as some of life’s sweetest joys can come through family associations, the loss of a beloved family member can be a source of our deepest sorrows. Jesus Christ gave power to His disciples to seal families together forever when He said, “And it will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19). Death does not need to be the end of our relationships with cherished loved ones. The Lord revealed to Joseph Smith that the “same sociality which exists among us here will exist among us there [in eternity], only it will be coupled with eternal glory” (Doctrine and Covenants 130:2). Family members who accept the Atonement of Jesus Christ and follow His example can be together forever through sacred ordinances performed in God’s holy temples. These ordinances seal a husband and wife together for all eternity and children to their parents as an eternal family. (See: “The Family: A Proclamation to the World”) Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

It is apparent from the New Testament that after Jesus established His 12 apostles that the group or Quorum of 12 was to continue from the events of Acts Chapter 1 where the 11 apostles, under the direction of Peter, choose Matthias as the new apostle to replace Judas. Paul, an author of a number of books in the New Testament, was also chosen as an apostle. Paul indicates that the church is built upon the foundation of apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:19-20) and lists their functions to “bring us to a unity of the faith” (Ephesians 4:11-14).
