Hi I'm Susan

I'm a native of Colorado, a mother of six and a quilter.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom with six children. I love to travel, quilt, read, hike and camp. I have been to Antarctica and all other continents except Australia. In college, I earned a degree in archaeology and I used to work in a university library.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints(Mormon) and raised me and my three siblings according to its principles. By the time I graduated from high school, I had prayed about the teachings of the church and knew for myself that the things I had been taught were true. I know Jesus Christ is the son of our Heavenly Father. Through Christ's atonement, I can receive forgiveness for my sins and shortcomings. I also know I can one day return to live with Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father, if I strive to keep the commandments. As in days of old, there is a living prophet on the earth and following him will lead me on a path back to my Heavenly Father. I have prayed and received answers from Heavenly Father and I know He will answer all sincere prayers.

How I live my faith

I serve in my church in many ways. I help teach individuals how to research their own family histories and document the research. I also index old records such as the census in an effort to digitize these documents and make them searchable online. I love the connection I feel with my ancestors and the sense of belonging it creates. Recently, I have been asked to teach children ages 4 and 5 about Jesus Christ and how we can follow Him.
