Hi I'm Annette

I grew up in the eastern United States. I homeschool my 7 kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love performing music, reading, doing word puzzles, and being with my family. I studied Spanish in college. I studied in Spain and was a missionary in Peru. I've always homeschooled all my kids. I'm kind of a crunchy-granola type. (I've done unassisted childbirth, cloth diapers, extended and tandem nursing, and we try to eat a whole-foods diet.) I like to work in the yard every once in a while to enjoy the fresh air. I like traveling around the country visiting living-history sites.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was about 12 I started reading everything I could find on world religions and after a couple of years I concluded that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can't be beat. After I read The Book of Mormon I prayed to know if it's true. The Spirit confirmed to me that I do know it's true. I've prayed about many aspects of the gospel and I have received the witness of the Spirit that each and every one of them is true.

How I live my faith

I play the piano in the weekly children's meeting of my congregation every Sunday. I also sing in the church choir. I go with another woman each month to visit a few of the women in our local LDS women's society in their homes to make sure they and their families are taken care of. I teach my kids religion lessons every morning. I pray and read scripture on my own every morning, and pray and read scripture with my family every evening.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Annette
Yes, we as Mormons absolutely regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and believe it is the word of God. I love the Bible. The Old Testament is one of my favorite parts of scripture. I love studying the history, especially stories of people who really lived, so I can follow their good examples. I love reading the beautiful wisdom in the psalms and proverbs because it guides me in my daily life. I love learning the teachings of the prophets so I can put them to practice, because doing so always blesses me and my family. Show more Show less
