Hi I'm Darren

I'm a husband, a banker, a world traveler and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I’m an Arizona native and grew up in small town called Safford. I love the outdoors, sports, family and friends. I moved to the city to finish school and have been here now for about 9 years. I married my wife 3 years ago and we love doing everything together. We are each others' best friend and enjoy almost all of the same things. We enjoy hiking, playing tennis, watching movies and eating out together. We are both travelers at heart and love new cultures, countries and languages. We left our jobs about a year and a half ago to go do volunteer work abroad and to see some of the world. We visited Italy, France, Austria, The Czech Republic, Argentina, Chile, and Peru. Each place was amazing and the people were wonderful. We love that we will have all those memories forever and look forward to wherever our next adventures in life will lead us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught about Jesus and the gospel from the very beginning of my life. The stories and teachings of the scriptures were a huge part of my upbringing. I am grateful for my parents’ example and their faith and love in teaching me about the Savior. As a teenager I decided that I wanted to know that these things I’d been taught were really true and important for me to continue in my life. I'm far from perfect but I have studied the scriptures and prayed to know what's true and what is right. I am a Mormon because I feel that it is the true church of Jesus Christ. I can tell the difference in my life when I strive to live the commandments and follow the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. I can feel a spirit of peace and real joy in my life when I go to church, read in the scriptures and serve others. I am a member of this church so that I can come to know the Savior better and so I can learn how to better follow Him.

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith by loving and serving my wife and my family. I try to treat others the way Jesus would and see everyone as a son and daughter of God. I like to read the scriptures on my lunch break at work and enjoy the peace and direction that it brings to my day and to my life. I teach classes on Sundays about gospel principles. I also get to accompany the missionaries during the week and visit with people in the neighborhood to let them know about the church and our beliefs and our faith in Jesus Christ.
