Hi I'm Ambie Snell

I am a nanny for five crazy fun boys in Seattle, where I also go to school. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a busy nanny of five boys and a student striving to become a dietitian! I grew up in Idaho and now I live about 700 miles away from home where I keep myself busy chasing kids, managing their schedule, cooking meals, grocery shopping, studying, socializing, etc. I love my job and am so fulfilled by being taught by these boys daily! Something that I like to do is find the good in every situation and always strive for positive and uplifting thoughts!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, not because of social reasons, or that it is easy to live life the "Mormon" way, but because I know who I am and what the purpose of this life is! Being a Mormon has helped me have a strong foundation in my life and has given me balance in daily routine. With the rush of a busy schedule and how fast the world is moving, it is important for me to have balance so that I can always feel at peace in my life. I know that peace comes from having that strong foundation built on Jesus Christ and following His example and striving to become more like Him.

How I live my faith

Everyday I have high hopes of living my faith. Through daily prayer and scripture study it motivates me to be a better person and to live my faith. I have the opportunity of serving in the church by teaching Sunday school, where I teach others in my congregation and in turn I am taught by them and we are both up lifted and strengthened to live our faith more diligently.

What is the First Vision?

Ambie Snell
The First Vision is what we refer to in the church when Joseph Smith, who was the first Prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, saw God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. In 1820 Joseph Smith was a young boy that was confused by the various churches and different religions that he was surrounded by and all he desired was to do the right thing. While wondering what the right place for him to be was, he read a scripture in the Bible that said if anyone is lacking wisdom then to ask God. Joseph wanted to know which church he should join and therefore was lacking wisdom. He knew that if he followed this scripture and asked God in faith, then God would grant him that wisdom. One day Joseph knelt in prayer to converse with God and gain wisdom of which church he should join and there he experienced the First Vision and Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ both spoke to Joseph and told him to join none of the churches. This experience began the restoration of the church Christ established in the New Testament. Just as Joseph lacked wisdom, we all lack wisdom and need to ask God to give us that wisdom. I know that through the power of prayer and with faith in Christ we may know the truth of all things. Show more Show less
