Hi I'm Saundra

I'm from Colorado. I love athletics, I am studying to be a Dietitian, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music, I love to play the flute and piano, and I love spending time with my family. I am in my third year of college, and I work two jobs so I am always busy. I enjoy attending Institute and the spirit and support I feel there from my classmates. I love attending church at my singles ward. Attending choir helped me to meet some of my very best friends at college. I especially love to exercise to keep myself feeling great. My favorite sport is volleyball, and next is running. Recently a group of 13 friends and myself ran a relay race through the Grand Teton Mountains that was 185 miles long. We each had three legs of the race, and my legs combined were almost 20 miles. I trained the entire spring and summer, and it was the most fun I have ever had. I have run half marathon distances, and hope to complete a full marathon in the next couple years. I love to bike and hike and camp. Other than that I love to snowboard, and spend time with my two best friends who are also my roommates, I met both of them through church. I grew up in a small town, but now i live in a larger city and have come to appreciate aspects of both.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have read the book of mormon time and time again, and have prayed to know if it is true and each time I receive the answer from the spirit that it is the true word of God, delivered by those prophets of old. I know Joseph Smith is a true prophet who restored the lost truths to the Earth, and I have been forever changed because of it. I know we have a prophet who receives modern revelation for the World, and that is Thomas S. Monson. The priesthood has been restored and it has sealed my family together so we can always be together even after we die, we will have each other. I know of the power in prayer, as I have asked time and again for forgiveness and received the mercy of the Lord. I have received peace in my mind and heart in times of great need and despair, and I know it comes from none other than the Lord Jesus Christ who is my saviour and redeemer.

How I live my faith

I am grateful to be called as the newsletter editor in my ward, and enjoy putting together the newsletter each month to uplift those who read it. I live my faith by being an example to all others no matter the situation. I am grateful to work as a nanny, and share with those families my values of being kind and honest and loving and always working to do what is right. I look forward to having my own family where I can help lead my children in righteousness.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

The lord has given each of us all the things we have. he has given me the chance to come to earth, to have a family, to learn to grow and to help others along the way. I look around myself and I would have nothing if I didn't know how to work for it. My family taught me this principle, and when the lord gives you everything, it is easy to give 10 percent back to him. I give tithes because it is a commandment that I love and recognize as neccesary. The lord can bless others in lands far away with church buildings. The Lord can do more with that 10% than I can, and it is a way to show gratitude. Show more Show less
