Hi I'm George

I retired from the Navy. I'm an engineer. I have 5 children. I served a mission for 2 years in Japan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a retired electrical engineer and a retired Naval Intelligence officer. I've climbed 13 of the 54 peaks in Colorado over 14000 ft. high. I enjoy reading, foreign language study and playing with my grand-kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a 5th generation Mormon, but had to decide on my own if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints was correct and worth following all my life. I've always felt that the church had value because of the way the members lived and treated each other and their neighbors. My understanding of the truthfulness of the church and gospel was solidified when I served a mission (2 yrs.) in Japan for the church in the 70's. I've come to understand and know of the reality of the Savior, Jesus Christ, and the plan of progression that Father has for all of us. The Bible and the Book of Mormon truly testify of the divinity of Jesus Christ as the only begotten of the Father. I also so testify in the name of Jesus, who is the Christ. Amen

How I live my faith

I try to study the scriptures and pray daily, go to church weekly and serve my family and community in any way that I can. The gospel of Jesus Christ is one of service so abundantly shown by the Master's service to all of us via his atoning sacrifice.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

George
The gospel of Jesus Christ is one of service. Men need to serve. They can't bring life into the world as women can, thus providing an immeasurable service. Men therefore have the opportunity to serve others through Priesthood service. The Priesthood is not to be considered as an honor but rather a chance to serve all others. Show more Show less
