Hi I'm Howard

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Berkeley, California and I enjoy the the mountains. I have spent my life in the construction industry.

About Me

I am the father of 4 girls and 5 boys and have enjoyed the opportunities associated with raising them to adulthood. I enjoy camping and hiking in the mountains and fishing is small rivers and streams. If something is broken I would rather try to fix it than throw it away. Consequently, I have a sweater that says, "This Grandpa can fix anything".

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church by a father who was a member and a mother who was not. I was taught many basically good principles by my parents. Those teachings helped me stay close enough to the church in my teen years that when I went away to college I was able to build upon them and develope my testimony of the truthfulness of what is taught by His church. It was in college that I read the Book of Mormon for the first time and it has been a great strength to my testimony that Joseph Smith was called as a prophet to re-establish Christ's original church organization and doctrine for our day. Having that witness helps me know why I am here on earth and what I should be doing to prepare for the future after I leave. I am greatful that we have had prophets in the past who gave us the scriptures and prophets again on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I spend several hours each week in performing my responsibilities for church. But that is not all for I find it very important to live my beliefs all of the time whether I am at church, home or any other place. I feel blessed to be able to participate in the chruch with a specific responsibility.
