Hi I'm Juliette

I recently moved from Boulder CO where I raised my children and enjoyed being a doula. Now I'm an "empty nester". I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite times are those spent with my family. Whether it's gathering for a birthday, playing Wii, vacationing in Florida or a late night marshmallow war it is so fun for me to be with my husband and children (brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, etc.). I also enjoy gardening, decorating, planning wedding receptions, being a labor and delivery coach and reading. My new golf clubs are calling to me----I just know I have it in me to be a decent golfer!! And, even though I'm 51 years old, I plan to get a Bachelor degree before I'm old enough to retire.

Why I am a Mormon

I am named after my Nana Juliette. I consider her a real pioneer. She listened to the Mormon missionaries back in the 50's, liked their message and joined the church. No one else in her family was a member but she was a seeker and, eventually, a believer. It was difficult for her to learn and progress in the church because she lived in a small town where there was no Latter-Day Saint congregation. Nor did she drive. Her worship was limited because of her circumstances. Shortly before I was born my parents joined the church. My mother was the first to take the missionary lessons. I believe she let those two young men into her home and listened to their message because she remembered being a teenager and listening to the missionaries teach her mother. After a while my father agreed to meet with the missionaries, too. Both of my parents were baptised in 1959. All these years later (over 51!) Elder Jernigan and Elder Coleman are still thought of with love. We even have photos of them in our photo albums. I was baptized when I turned eight. Even at that age I recognized the Holy Ghost and wanted to follow the commandments. That was the beginning of my journey to know Jesus Christ in a very personal way. Like my Nana Juliette, and my parents, I am a seeker.....and a believer.

How I live my faith

Children say the darndest things! And sometimes the most amazingly inspired!! It has been my priviledge and delight to work with the youth of the church. I love to be around their enthusiasm whether it's during singing time, class time or while listening to them present a talk......or just listening. Jesus Christ loves little children. He administered to them during his mortal mission and held them on his lap. I experience love for the children I teach and want them to know about their Father in Heaven and their Saviour Jesus Christ. I want to always testify to them that they are loved and known (on a name basis) by Them. I want the children to know of their divine heritage and understand their inherent goodness. I desire that they recognize the influence of the Holy Ghost so they can feel protected and guided as they make decisions in their daily lives. These children have valiant spirits and will have an important influence for good on the earth in these times. Perhaps one way I live my faith is by teaching, loving and building up children.
