Hi I'm Beverly

I was born and raised in California. I'm a Mormon. I love working on my family history and meeting members of my family.

About Me

I love helping others. I have been working on my geneaology since I joined the church in the early 70's. Over the last ten to fifteen years I have been able to make progress on my family history thanks to modern technology. Just recently I met a distant cousin who lives in Texas and she has sent me family pictures of my ancestors. I also love to read murder mystery books and my favorite author is Mary Higgins Clark. I enjoy creating greeting cards and am slowly getting into scrapbooking. I inherited our 'family picture drawer' and have been sorting them and putting them into scrapbooks for each of my brothers and sisters.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the First Southern Baptist Church until I was about 9 years old. I could not understand as a child why I could not get baptized into that church. When I got into high school a neighbor friend of mine asked me to go to seminary with her. I asked what it was and she told me it was gospel study for teenagers. I agreed to go after I got permission from my parents. My first sacrament meeting was a Fast and Testimony meeting and I felt so at peace and at home there. I thought how wonderful it was that everybody participated in the meeting. I knew that I belonged and our family took the missionary lessons. Most of my family joined the church and I have had the opportunity to have my father's work done since his passing. I love being a member of the church and feeling the warmth and peace the gospel brings. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know we are led by a living prophet today and that God, the Father and Jesus Christ love each of us just as much as he does those of ancient days. He wants what is best for each of us. I know He lives and loves me. I have felt his comforting love and reassurance in my life.

How I live my faith

I have taught the little children at church for many years and just love the little ones. Currently I am serving as secretary for the women's organization in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This program is called the Relief Society. Thru this organization, I have had the opportunity to get to know some wonderful women. I have served in the Primary (the organization for the children ages 18 months to 12 years) in a variety of callings. I have also served on the Single Adult Committees.
