Hi I'm Sebastián

I'm from MedellÍn, Colombia. I love music. I'm an English teacher. I'm a happy Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to an amazing and a beautiful woman. She supports me in everything I do. I have two children: One 3 years old beautiful little girl and a 7 months old handsome little baby boy. They teach me beautiful things everyday. We're a family with many temporal difficulties, but that makes us keep more united. I've been an English teacher for the last 4 years. My hobbies are: Playing piano, reading English books, playing with my kids, improving my English skills (someday I'd like to be a simultaneous interpreter). In this moment I'm going to college, I'm studying a bachelor´s degree in English. When I was born, my parents were already 7 years and a half members of the church, so I grew up in a very religion-centered family, with good principles and with the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints planted in my mind and in my heart. I love music and I have done some contributions to the church with my talents as a choir director and pianist for church meetings.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born, my parents were already members of the Church, so they taught me almost everything I know about the Church as well as how to get my own testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I remember when I was 8 years old, I wanted to get baptized and i was preparing for it. My parents and the sister missionaries told me that in order to know if all the things they have taught me were true, I had to pray and ask Heavenly Father if everything was true. So I did. I don't remember the exact words I used in that prayer but I do remember the beautiful feeling I felt that night. I felt joy, pure joy. I felt peace, happiness, my mind was clear, everything had sense. Since that time I've tried to be true to the things I've learned. As I do so, I've experienced happiness and hope in the future. My life has been free from big troubles, and I've seen the hand of the Lord everyday of my life. I invite you yo consider improving your relationship with God and inquire Him to know if the things that you learn from this site are true. You'll receive a onfirmation through the Holy Ghost as I did long ago. I know that God loves us and that he has restored His church here on earth so that His children won't be lost through their lives. I know this and I share it in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I am the leader in a group of adult men. We carry out some service activities, we visit the members of our group (quorum) in a regular basis to encourage them to live righteous lives and to help them meet their needs and to be self reliant spiritually and temporally. We also have fun with some entertainment activities. It is incredible all you can learn when you are in the service of your fellow beings. I also have a responsibility with music music. I have to advice the people in musical matters and help them understand music concepts. I assist one about-forty-people-amateur-choir playing the piano and directing some hymns and songs for special meetings and conferences. We do some performances at different places of the city (almost always in December) to make the church known around the city. Many people has been moved by the hymns and have been converted to the church by our singing. It's a wonderful opportunity to preach the gospel.
