Hi I'm Lee Redpath

I live in a small English village on the north east coast of England, I study Biomedical Sciences and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Biomedical Scientist whom admires the creation of God, which is the human body. I attend Newcastle Medical Faculty as part of my university education. I love my education and the prospect of increasing in knowledge excites me. The institutions at which I learn teach me that I need to only know things to accomplish my life's desires. In contrast to this, the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Church on the Earth is the only institution that teaches me that I rather need to become something and not only know something to have a wholesome and rewarding life. Me, my brothers and parents enjoy that type of rewarding and abundant life when we endeavour to live the gospel of Jesus Christ together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a loving LDS family. They have always brought me up to be a good Christian, who lives by Christian values. But, there always comes a time when children find out for themselves if something is true. The borrowed light I had been living on became insufficient for who I wanted to be. When I was in my mid teens, I was asked to share my beliefs at a regional conference of the Church, I realised I didn't truly know what I believed to be true. So I studied, prayed, fasted and pleaded for answers. After diligent study and much prayer I found out for myself that this is the Restored Church of Jesus Christ in the modern day. I knew by the feelings of the spirit. Those feelings are intimate, from God and are real. My God and my Saviour walked with me during these times. God walks alongside all His children. He loves us. My conversion was one that allowed the pure love of Christ to come upon me and I felt a remission of my sins. Trials have come since that time, but each righteous decision has become another thread in my lifes tapestry and I know i can become stronger and truer to the cause. Truly, in my life the Saviour's "perfect love casteth out fear" (1 john 4:18) Now I am 22 I know for certain that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and that life as a disciple of Jesus Christ is the abundant life (John 10:10) "10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it‍ more abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd‍ giveth his life for the sheep."

How I live my faith

Jesus Christ taught people "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15) and His New Testament apostles also taught that "Faith without works is dead"(James 2). So I've decided that in my life that in order for me to live my faith I must keep the commandments of The Lord and go about doing good (Acts 10:38) as The Saviour did. I currently serve in the lay (unpaid) clergy of my local unit of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as an ecclesiastical leader. Much of the service I give in this capacity helps me to take upon my self the discipline of Christ and become His disciple. Spending time with Family and my fellow brothers and sisters in their homes constitute much of what I do to live my faith. As I read of Christ in the scriptures and learn of His doctrine and teachings I am prompted to change my life and improve by living by the things I learn. (John 10:17) In my life and in all I do I try and adopt the attitude of the servants and called prophets of Jesus Christ from the Book of Mormon times who said "we talk‍ of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy‍ of Christ" (2 Nephi 25:26) When Christ is at the centre of my life He can make more of me than I ever could make of myself without Him.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Lee Redpath
The Book of Mormon is antoher testament that Jesus Christ lived and that He lives now. It teaches the principles of God. Through sublime examples throughout the Book of Mormon we can come to know God and His Son Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon invites us and our famililes to embrace faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, it shares the principles that will help our families succeed. It teaches of His love and tells us of His dealing with the Ancient American people. God spoke through His prophets on the American continent for "surely the Lord God will do nothing, but He revealeth His secrets unto His servants the prophets." (Amos 3:7) To fulfill the biblical law that "in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established" (2 Corinthians 13:1) The Book of Mormon has come forth to compliment The Bible. These scriptural witnesses authenticate each other. So why do we need more scripture? We live in a time unlike any other, calamities of all kinds flood the Earth today:divorce, murderings, secret combinations, terrorism and all manner of things which cause our hearts to ache. Thus God caused that the fulness of His Gospel was recorded to help and succor His children in this day. In 1827 Joseph Smith received the record and translated it through the gift and power of God. The Book of Mormon finishes with a promise that all can know its true (Moroni 10:4-5) I testify it is true. God is unchanging and has, as He did in ancient times, revealed His Gospel to His Children.
