Hi I'm Rodney Palmer

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I received a Bacherlors and Masters degree from a major university. I served my country in the U.S. Army, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. I am a Certified Public Accountant and presently hold the position of Chief Financial Officer for a regional law firm. I am the father of eleven children - 7 boys and 4 girls. I am also the proud grandfather of 33 grandchildren. My wife, my children and my grandchildren are the center of my life and bring me the greatest joy and satisfaction in life. I enjoy gardening, sports, hiking. I also find it very satisfying to work with young people as they prepare for life through Boy Scouts of America, various youth programs and through wholesome recreational activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I have come to know through prayerful study of the Bible and Book of Mormon that Jesus is in fact the Savior of the world and the only begotten son of our Father in Heaven. I have also come to know that Heavenly Father has a plan for us here upon the earth and we are not here upon the earth by some freak accident, but I am here, along with other of our Heavenly Father's children, because of a great plan of happiness that our Father in Heaven has established. Knowledge of this plan has been made known to me as I have come to study the restored gospel truth in the holy scriptures, available through modern revelation and modern apostles and prophets. I was privileged to be born and raised in a family who were members of the restored gospel - the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but had to come to know for myself through prayer, study and fasting that in fact the gospel and priesthood authority have now been re-established upon the earth.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday is a special day for me and my family because of the opportunity we have each week to study the life of the Savior and to partake of the sacrament in remembrance of his suffering and sacrifice in behalf of all mankind, including my family. I have had the opportunity over the years to assist the youth in the development of christian values and character traits. I served as a missionary when a 19 year old youth and have found great joy in assisting other young men to prepare for the same experience, including my 7 sons. I know I am far from perfect, but I am a better man than I would have been, if I did not have the blessings of the restored church
