Hi I'm Al

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I'm a recent retiree enjoying my time doing woodworking, restoring old cars and rock hounding and doing all those honey-dos.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church about 35 ago as a single adult. I had always been intersted in religion. I guess I was a seeker after the "true" chuch. I investigated other churches and I also looked into eastern philosophies as a way of living. I was introduced to the Church through a friend at work. He provided me with phamplets, and other related church media to review. He answered my many questions and invited me to dinner so I could meet his family. We had a great time together that evening. He asked if I'd like to attend church with his family. I said sure and enjoyed getting to know the Mormons better. My interests in the Church grew over the next few months. Eventually he asked if I'd like to learn more about the Church through the Church's missionary program. I eagerly accepted and within a few weeks the missionaries knocked on my door. I invited the two young men in and we began the formal disscussions. The five discussions taught me about Church doctrines a gospel principals. They challenged me to bapatism, if after study and personal prayer I came to understanding the truthfullness of their message. That seemed reasonable to me and I agreed. It was just a short time later that through my prayerful study of the Bible, Book of Mormon and other suggested readings were true. I knew the Book of Mormon was true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I eagerly attend the Ward in my local and meet the wonderful members there. I was soon baptised and have completly enjoyed my 35 years as a member.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ to the best of my ability. In addition, I try to follow the direction of our living prophet and president of the Chruch (Thomas S. Monson), my local church leadership and attend church every Sunday.
