Hi I'm Dustin

I'm a husband and father living in Colorado and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a Sales Professional in the Food Industry. I am passionate about music and love to play the guitar. I also DJ on the weekends. I am a geek dad and enjoy comics, computers, video games, and helping my kids appreciate science. I am happily married and love traveling, dining out, and spending as much time as possible with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, but my parents always encouraged us to learn for ourselves whether or not what we were learning was true. I went to church every Sunday and gained a small testimony that the gospel was indeed from God. When I was in Elementary School, it bothered me that the other kids would make fun of me for being a Mormon. They would tease me about things that weren't part of what I believed. I knew, though, that what I was learning was good and would help me be more like Jesus Christ. When I was about 17, I was faced with the decision to serve a full-time mission. I knew that I did not want to go unless I firmly believed in what I was teaching. The Scriptures counsel us to study the gospel and then to simply ask God in prayer if it is true. I followed these teachings and was able to feel in my heart that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I served a mission and am eternally grateful for the opportunities I had to speak with others, regardless of religious backgrounds, about our beliefs. I studied science in school and now follow a scientific career. My faith in God has only grown by learning more about the physical world around us. I am grateful that God still speaks to us today through modern-day prophets. I am grateful that He has established a church where we can go to learn more about His gospel and where we can worship. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that only through Him can we be saved.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving at home, in my community, and at Church. At home, my wife and I pray often with our children and read the Bible and Book of Mormon daily as a family. We try to teach our children by example as we work, play, and spend time together. I try to be a good member of my community by working hard in my job, seeking volunteer opportunities, and caring for the environment. At church, I help with our Sunday School programs and look forward to participating each week in our Sacrament meetings.
