Hi I'm Amy

I am a wife, a mom and a stepmom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have just started a new chapter in my life as a wife, a mom, and a stepmom. After graduating from college in 1994, I served a mission and then began working full time. I had a great career and was looking forward to spending the rest of my working years overseas in my dream job. Just as that dream job became a reality, I, at age 37 met and married my husband. Talk about a change of plans! I love my new life and find family life very happy and rewarding. Our baby girl was born in September 2011 and I am enjoying the time at home with her.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life. I remember as a child being taught that I lived with Heavenly Father before I was born and that this life is like a "test" to see if we will follow His commandments and do everything we can to return and live with him. I vividly remember wanting to do my best to return to live with my Heavenly Father. I also have a testimony of the atonement of Jesus Christ. My grandfather had a disability and I knew from a really young age that because Jesus died and was resurrected, we would all be resurrected and our bodies would be perfect again someday, even grandpa's. These two pieces of the Gospel of Jesus Christ were the beginnings of my testimony, which has grown over the years.

How I live my faith

I love serving. One of the things I like best about living my faith is the opportunity to serve. My favorite thing to do is to prepare meals for families with new babies, missionaries or other members who are sick. I watched my mom prepare many meals for people and when I moved out on my own it was one thing I always wanted to do for others. Doing small things make such a big difference in the lives of others. I have spent a lot of time working with the youth in the church as a teacher. I taught an early morning church class (at 6:00 a.m. every school day) for 2 years to the teenagers in my congregation. I loved starting my day talking about the Gospel. The youth are so strong and they were such an example to me.
