Hi I'm Starr

I grew up in Tacoma. I love my family. I am a recovering addict. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a lover of good things in life. I am a mom, wife and recovering addict. In the last three years that I have joined the mormon church I have found a new lease on life. I have found something that is true for me. I have found peace in my life. Before joining the church, I always felt like I had just a small idea of what having a spiritual relationship with God was like, in my family we knew what prayer was, we knew who Christ was, but I don't think we really developed a true personal relationship with God or Christ in our home as children. I didn't really know what having a personal relationship with Christ was about until I choose to become mormon. My choice has forever changed my life. Before I joined the mormon church, I was addicted to marijuana. I used consistenly for 5 years straight and couldn't find myself out of the web of destruction. I think it wasn't until I hit my own personal "rock bottom", that I started to cling to the "Rock" I know today. Jesus Christ. I was afraid to join the church because I thought my family would disown me, and I had "heard" all of these rumors about mormons. But because the Holy Ghost was by my side, I was able to cling to Jesus, My Rock and overcome and enter the waters of baptism.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know that this is the one church that has shown me the fruits of love that Jesus Christ talks about. I am mormon because I know in my heart that it is the right thing to do. I was baptized a little over three years ago, and since then I have struggled with temptation several times, and the Holy Ghost has helped me through each time, and the atonement of Jesus Christ helps me to understand how I can become a better person. I am mormon because I prayed in faith, knowing I would recieve the anwser I needed, and it came to me just the way I needed it to.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day. Some days is harder than others for me, but each day that I continue to apply the atonement to my life is a day that makes me a better wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend. I do my best to live the gospel principals, keep the promises I have made to Heavenly Father and remember that without this church, I wouldn't be who I am today. If you had a looking glass into my life before and after this gospel came into my life, you would see two different women. The gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has made significant changes in my integrity. I live my faith by praying. I live my faith by making good choices. I live my faith by doing good things for others around me, though they be small, they matter to Heavenly Father. By small and simple things, great things come to pass. This much I know.
