About Me

After serving my 2-year mission in Chile, I returned to the U.S. and my university studies. I met my future wife at a square dancing club and we married in 1977. We started our family with two daughters before I graduated in 1981. I went to work at The Boeing Company as a manufacturing engineer and finished my career there with a brain surgery and nearly fatal stroke. I retired in 2005, on medical disability.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a devoted 7th-generation Mormon. I know that Joseph Smith is a true Prophet & The Book of Mormon is true. I proselytized for 2 years in Chile, 1972-74. I still love to share the good news that Jesus Christ and His representatives authorized Joseph Smith to restore the gospel to its pristine form and to restablish Christ's church.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith on a daily basis by trying to start each day with a half-hour scripture study accompanied by personal prayer. As I go about my day, I watch for opportunities to share the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ through Joseph Smith and through sucessive living prophets. I spend summers in Saginaw, Michigan. While there, I teach a doctrinal class of older men comprised of current and former leaders in the Church there. We have exciting discussions.

How does the Church finance its operations?

Mark
Early in our marriage, my wife and I learned how critical was living the law of tithing. During a period of underemployment, we rationalized that our income was so small that we could not afford to tithe. Eventually better employment came along despite our faithlessness. We tried to catch up on our debt and found it painful. Since then we have paid a full tithe and have seen God open His windows of heaven. We have never lacked anything necessary. Show more Show less
