Hi I'm Dennis

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and a father of two, ages 12 and 10. The past several years I have spent a large portion of my time working in the wonderful world of real estate. These last few years, more specifically, in the area of property preservation. With so many foreclosures across the US, it was an opportunity when everything else in Real Estate seemed to freeze. When I’m not working, I enjoy attempting to fill the requests of my wife and kids. You name it. I enjoy the challenge.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents converted to the LDS faith, the Mormon church before I was born so, I’ve been a Mormon my whole life. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been taught by my parents, Sunday School teachers, Seminary teachers, youth leaders, and through the scriptures that I can pray to my Heavenly Father and receive answers to my prayers. It was a constant and recurring theme among my teachers and leaders because, it was important to learn the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for myself. Well, as it turns out, they were right. We can receive answers to our prayers, and I did. I consider myself lucky because, as I grew up, I was surrounded by friends that were faithful and strong and stood as great examples to me. It was “cool” and actually expected that we follow the example of our Savior and to live by His teaching. This atmosphere made the temptations of the world, non-temptations… almost. I couldn’t have asked for more, growing up. Looking at the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a practical, non-spiritual sense, one could argue that all behaviors encouraged by our Savior make perfect sense but, if I were to stop there, I would be missing the boat. In addition to living the gospel, I believe one of our most important challenges here on earth is to develop a relationship with our Heavenly Father so, we can grow closer to Him and return to live with Him. I believe we have the fullness of the gospel which allows me to most effectively establish that relationship with Him, and prepare me to return to Him. I am thankful for this church.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in a position in my church that allows me a large variety of opportunities. I get to sit on several different councils that organize and plan for the training, activities, and benefit of specific groups of people within the church and even get as detailed as aiding specific individuals of those groups. I am also assigned to teach and support specific families in my neighborhood as their Home Teacher. It is through these organized efforts that I am given a true opportunity to serve and "love my neighbor" as we've all been asked to do. I love being given the chance to serve through this church organization! As a Mormon family, my wife, kids, and I have family home evening on Mondays, read scriptures in the mornings(even if it's just a few minutes), pray together, and even have our own "family council". As a Mormon, I feel it is also part of my duty and privilege to share the gospel and encourage those around me; whether family or friends, to seek out the gospel truths for themselves. We've all been given the promise of an answer.
