Hi I'm Bob

I own a business selling lathes and engineers tools in Queensland Australia and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love Aussie Rules football, still play squash at 61 years old and have a wife, 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Golf and fishing are loves from afar as they are so time consuming but I indulge myself occasionally. Great passion is gardening and landscaping our 2 1/2 acres.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church as a 22 year old on a working holiday around Australia and have never regretted it. Best thing I ever did. I was not socially or emotionally needy at the time, in fact life was pretty good for me. What I did feel however, was that my life was empty, despite enjoying a carefree and fun filled existence. In a moment of reflection I said a prayer that went like... "God, if you are there, do what you want to do with me" The very next day a member of the church, whom I had never met before or since, invited me to come on a church activity. I received a very powerful impression in my heart that this invitation was the answer to that prayer. After meeting with the missionaries I joined the church and have been an active member ever since. As a person who has lived without consideration to commandments as well as one who has tried his best to abide by them completely, I can say that there is a level of peace and happiness that is not achievable by any other way other than by trying to follow the Saviour's example.

How I live my faith

I have served as a fulltime missionary from when I was 25 to when I was 27. My family and I also served as missionaries in New Zealand for 3 years. My wife and I now act as advisors to the leaders of the church in our city on the activities of the Young Single Adults who range from 18-30 years old.
