Hi I'm Liam

I love surfing, my veggie garden and I'm about to become a Dad!!! And I'm and Mormon.

About Me

I love my faimly and friends. Im married to a beautiful girl and we are expecting a baby soon! Life couldn't get any better! I come from a large family as does my wife, so family events are common place in our life. I am a university student and am almost finished a civil engineering and finance degree. I also work part time as an engineer. When I'm not at university or work, I love going to the beach with my wife. The day usually consits of heading to the beach early, so I can surf or try and catch some fish for dinner while she watches from the beach. In summer, however, I can usually get her to come in the water surfing with me as the waters warmer. I also love going hiking, camping or just being outdoors. Growing up near the beach I have an affinity for the water. One day whilst fishing with my dad, I saw two young guys my age, dive in with snorkel and mark armed with a speargun. They soon surfaced with two massive fish. Dad and I got nothing. Soon after, I ditched the fishing rod for a speargun and have been going spearfishing and freediving on clear, calm days for many years now. One of my greatest spearfishing memorys was camping on an island at the Great Barrier Reef for 14 days with some school friends and being able catch lots of tasty reef fish and take some great pictures.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon and grew up attenting church every Sunday. Ever since I was young I always loved going to church and participating in church activities. I guess the reason I have always enjoyed church was because of the feelings I felt at church were similiar to what I felt at home. My parents always lived the teachings of Jesus Christ so I always felt a sense of peace and saftey at home. From my parents and siblings examples I wanted to learn more about Jesus Christ and his teachings. As I read the Bible and Book of Mormon the truths of his teachings were confirmed to me through the peaceful feelings I felt in my heart and I knew that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints was Christs church upon the earth. My conviction of these truths was deepened as I served as a missionary in Japan for 2 years. I saw people whose lives had been scared by drugs, alchohol and family problems transformed through faith in Jesus Christ and through following his teachings. I know that Jesus Christ is our Saviour and that he died for each person on this earth so that they may be able to oversome sin, turn weaknesses into strengths and one day return home with our families to our loving Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I teach a class of twelve to thirteen year olds at church. Despite the challenges and peer pressure each one of them face, they're awesome and seeing there examples makes me want to live better so I can become a better teacher. I also visit afew families within our area each month with a friend. We share a short message from one of our Prophets and see If there is anything we can help them with, for example mowing their lawn..etc. Most of all we just like spending time with them as we are good friends and genuinely care about them. I also try to live my faith by looking for opportunitues to serve my fellow men, whether it be a sick neighboor who needs some help in the garden or sharing a smile with a stranger. I believe Living your faith is serving others.
