Hi I'm Esther

I study Psychology, I'm a new mum and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be active, spend time outside at the beach, climbing mountains and playing sports. I am a vegetarian (though I eat seafood) and I feel strongly about the way animals should be respected and treated before slaughter. I love spending time with my best friend- my husband and our baby girl. I have graduated from a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours, and plan to complete the 2 more years necessary to become a registered psychologist as soon as time permits. At the moment my time is largely devoted to my baby girl who was born New Years day 2012! Life is great, we have amazing family and friends and are so excited to extend our family and grow as parents.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the Mormon church) and I have never doubted the truthfullness of the gospel. As I grew up I made some silly mistakes but I always knew that happiness would come from living the standards of the Mormon church. I have always felt that there was wisdom in following the commandments and the teachings of the Church and have never wanted to live differently. My parents taught me from a young age to stand up for myself and not be afraid to be different, so I was never hesitant to live with high standards amidst others that lived very differently. I know this Church is true because it brings me so much happiness. I believe that through the gospel anyone is able to find peace and joy, that they will be able to endure all the sadness or difficulties that come with living on this earth.

How I live my faith

At my local church I'm a teacher for the young women aged 16-17. They are alot of fun and I am able to learn a lot from them! I love to study the scriptures and literature from church leaders when preparing for their lessons - it helps me to be a better person in my own life. I love hanging out with all of the youth at church, they are an inspiring bunch of kids and they surprise you with how mature and wise they can be. At church I'm also part of the choir. I love to sing alot of different music, especially the music I have sung in current and past church choirs. I find the music is always so beautiful, with lyrics that inspire me to live a virtuous life.
