Hi I'm Judy

I grew up in Northern Caliofornia. I am a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to my sweetheart for 16 years. We have 5 children between us. We have 6 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I retired when we moved to Colorado 10 years ago. I was a legal secretary prior to that. I have worked most of my adult life so retirement was quite a change. We recently moved to Richfield UT, which is quite the change for me. I enjoy taking walks with my dogs, gardening, canning, genealogy, and indexing for Family Search. I'm learning to quilt and also enjoying watching home improvement and cooking shows.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 12 years old. My mother was member but my father was not. My mother wasn't active but her parents encourage her to have her children baptized. I wasn't very active as a child, my mother would try dropping my brother and I off at church but I didn't enjoy it because I was very shy. Once I entered high school I met some wonderful girls who befriended me and welcomed me into young womens. What a wonderful time that was. I became very involved in the church, participating in roadshows, dance festivals and singing groups. To this day I am still in contact with several of these girls. Even tho my father wasn't a member, he appreciated the teachings of the church and the standards taught so he encourage me to go. I have gone to several different churchs over the years, invited by my friends, but never felt the peace and love that I feel everytime I walk into our chapels. I come from LDS pioneers on both sides of my family. I love doing genealogy and learning their stories of conversion and great faith. The courage they had to have is inspiring and humbling.

How I live my faith

We love the community and the Ward we attend. It is wonderful to live in a community that actually celebrates it's love for God and country. We were here 3 months and were asked to serve a mission here in Richfield. I'm so excited to serve in this lovely community for the next year. We never thought we would have the opportunity to serve a mission but being able to serve from home in our own community has allowed us to reach that dream we never thought possible. What a blessing!! One of my favorite scriptures is "Be Still and Know That I am God". When hard times come, I take great comfort in knowing I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and is always there for me.
