Hi I'm Chris

I love laughing, learning, music and nature - and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and stay-home mother of 3 boys. I have a BS in mathematics and a BS in psychology. I am currently taking piano and voice lessons. When my youngest son is a little older I plan to pursue a degree in nutrition. I enjoy hiking and taking pictures - I am amazed by the beauty in the world. I am a novice gardener, striving to have more successes and less "now what do I do"s. I am involved in my community and serve on a number of school committees. I enjoy life in general and spending time with my family in particular.

Why I am a Mormon

When I read the Book of Mormon I feel the Spirit testify that what I am reading is true. That I know the Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ is the very foundation of my being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Added to this foundation is the knowledge that there are living prophets on the earth today. When I hear or read the prophets' and apostles' words I know they are appointed by God.

How I live my faith

About two years ago I was asked to teach the adult Sunday School class in my ward. After spending most of my adult life working with the children at church I felt a little intimindated. It has been a wonderful experience. Teaching the Old Testament last year and the New Testament this year has required me to really delve into the scriptures. I have learned so much from preparing the lessons and from the class discussions during the lessons. How I participate in my ward is only part of how I live my faith - or more correctly how my life is different because of my faith. As my understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ increases I feel an increase of peace in my life and in my home. I feel an increase of love and patience toward those I know and those I don't. I feel an increase of happiness and hope - despite what may be happening in the world around. My mother died of cancer recently. It was, and is, a difficult time in my life and yet I feel joy and peace in the knowledge that God was and is aware of her and that I will see her again.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?
