Hi I'm Doug

I was raised in Southern California, now I live in Colorado. I love art, music and good friends & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of two great son's, both are starting their own families. I spend my days doing finish work in custom homes in Colorado. I enjoy the outdoors, painting, playing the guitar and spending time with my two grand children. I spend many of my early mornings and evenings walking my dog and enjoying Mountian paths...

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this wondrful church all of my life. I was blessed to be raised in a family where the gospel of Jesus Christ was taught to us the moment we were born. I served a mission to England. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior, He was ordained of our Father in Heaven to redeem all of his children sent to this marvelous earth which Christ created just for us. I know that Joseph Smith was the Lord's prophet of the restoration, that Thomas S. Monson is His true and faithful prophet for us this very day. I have seen our Father in Heaven work many miracles in my life as I have given heed to His commandments. I feel it an honor to share my testimony with the world, for I desire all of Our Father's children to feel the joy of the redemptive powers of Jesus Christ, for Jesus Christ has truly brought true joy to my soul. I share this testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I enjoy teaching gospel principle's that are related to our day and age. I enjoy hometeaching, each month along with a companion we visit four families. Each family in the church have home teacher's who visit them each month. The role of the home teachers is to share a message from the prophet and his councilors, to make sure the families spiritual and physical needs are attended to, or any other needs they can assist them with. Loving, caring home teachers have been a wonderful blessing to my family throughout my life. I enjoy listening to the Mormon Channel while I am at work, it really gives my mind many positive things to think about as I go through my day.

What is faith?

Doug
Our Savior Jesus Christ created this earth for us to come and live, receive a physical body, and develop our charactor by living through all of the trials and joys of mortality. Part of this journey on earth requires us to develop faith, faith is that principle of the gospel which we learn from the scriptures is to "hope" for things which are not seen, which are true". To develop faith means that we will trust in our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. As we honestly seek to develop a relationship with them, the Holy Ghost will burn within our hearts and shine a feeling of confidence in our minds that the Father and the Son are real, living and waiting to receive us into their kingdom.
