Hi I'm Dave

I'm a stock broker, I love to have fun outdoors, hiking, biking, swimming, and anything with my wife and 2 sons. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father who loves to be with my family, immediate and extended. I have lots of outdoor interests, anything that I can do with my wife and sons. I love mountain biking and my favorite ride was around the Island In The Sky in Canyonlands Utah, outside of Moab. I love to hike and camp, we just moved to Arizona so I'm looking forward to exploring a new state one campground at a time. Paintball is one of my favorite hobbies, I've played on a competition team before but mostly play with friends and family now; the family that shoots each other, stays together. I enjoy playing the guitar, my favorite guitar is my Yamaha classical nylon 6 string.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon Church but really became convinced that it is special when I began to study and pray about it's authenticity when I was about 14. My convictions grew as I matured until at the age of 18 I decided to serve a 2 year volunteer mission for the Church. On my mission I grew close to God and relied on his direction and assistance every day. I have seen what this church can do for people, it gives hope, direction, peace and strength as well as an amazing perspective on life and the purpose thereof.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings on a weekly basis, I find that it helps me get focused on the important things in life, it also gets me peaceful and ready for the coming week. I have had the opportunity to teach youth, participate as a leader in a church sponsored Boy Scout troop and have worked in leadership capacities where I have had the chance to serve others and make a difference in the community. I find that I always get more out of service than what I put in.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

The prophet and other church leaders speak in a conference twice each year. When I hear the prophet speak I can feel that he is a true messenger from God, there have been many times when I have been comforted and directed by the words of a prophet. I believe that President Monson is as real of a prophet as was Moses or Elijah, I know this because of the unmistakable spiritual rush I have felt as I have listened to him speak. It is a tremendous advantage to be able to take guidance from authentic messengers of God. Show more Show less
