Hi I'm Timothy

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Denver and a native of Colorado. I enjoy the outdoors and grew up spending time camping with family.

About Me

I grew up in Denver area and learned to enjoy being with family and our parents taking us to the mountains- We learned to set up tents and go camping without dad at times- We really were amazed our mom would do this for us, but we loved going camping. Part of the outdoors was taking pictures of flowers, and the scenery in the mountains that no one else would ever see. My Dad is a great photograper and he has allot of pictures from our campouts still on his walls at home of some of these areas- Nature is really amazing to be in and to get away. You realize how small we are in this world and there has to be something more to this life. When you see wildlife, plants and trees and other things that just grow, they just take care of themselves. Just think about all the things we cant see or hear. Have you wondered how a tree knows what directions to grow? Its amzing to think about. You really get a spiritual glimps of all the creations our heavenly father created for us . I have learned and loved my family, children, electronics, computers, motorcycling, camping, boating, audio and video stuff, listening to music and serving in the church. I have been on four 50 milers when I was a scout and learned to work hard.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember the day that I was baptised as a 8 year old and how I felt being a member of the church- It was a glorious day. My parents were converts to the church and so I was raised in the church. I always liked going to church and going to activities. This was before the meetings were changed to 3 hour block and we had Sacrament, Sunday school Relief Society/priesthood in 1 hour blocks on Sunday. I remember going to church partaking of the sacrament and having our sacrament meeting and going home eating and then going back and partaking of the sacrament again and having Sunday school. Allot has changed since then. The next biggest day in my life was when I recieved my mission call to serve as a missionary in Scotland. I remember being in the MTC and i felt very overwhelmed with having to teach others what I knew about the gospel. I knew i needed to know for sure that the gospel was true for myself before I could tell others it was true, so i kneeled down by my bed and prayed to know the church as true- I got my answer and recieved a powerful confirmation from the Holy Ghost that what I was doing was right thing by being a missionary for the churchand that the gospel was true, the Book of Mormon was true. I got up from my prayer and that was the turning point in my life- I knew from that prayer that everything i would be doing was worth it and that I could tell others about what I knew, and that if they wanted to know it was true they could pray to know for themselves. Just as I had done- Our heavenly father lives and loves us and does hear our prayers. Today my testimony keeps growing from the positive confirmation I recieve all the time in the choices I make and listening to the spirit and reading the scriptures. Music is a treasure that can bring confort to my life when things seem impossible or troublesome.

How I live my faith

I have had lot of callings and responsiblities in my life serving in the church. I remember my first calling when I was a deacon- I was called as the secretary for the Quorum. I was put in the Teachers Quorum when I turned 16 and was called as secretary. This calling was a preparation to keep me organized and provide assistance to my leaders- this is a trait I still have and I am glad I learned it- otehr examples from speaking in church and to being in scouting and other callings has contributed many blessing in my life- I was called as an executive secretary for several Bishoprics (getting the pattern?) and ward clerk and really enjoyed putting all the agenda together for these meetings- I am currently serving as a technology clerk for the stake and also called as sound manager for the Colorado Mormon chorale for several years. I enjoy helping others and have a nack for fixing things. This is not something I just do on sundays. I know this is a big committment but its just part of my life and dont look at it as a sacrifice. That is what is amazing with the gospel. It becomes part of who you are and serving others and loving others is a by product of living the gospel and having the spirit guide you. I know as you life your faith and help others that your problem seem to go be taken care of or dont seem to be so large to tackle. I like the word Prospective, its a great word- Change the way you look at things and life. Think about how you grow up and become children to adults then parents and grand parents. I am a grandparent of 4 wonderful grand children. You look at life so much differently now then I did when i was younger- I wish I could have done better but its just one of those life lessons you have to learn yourself. We each have a time and moments we each can affect others in this life we live and learn. I pray that we might be inspired to gain a prospective that would led us all in living a happy life

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

As you study and learn of Christ teachings those feelings will become familiar to you as the missionarys teach you of the gospel. If you recognize and allow the Holy Ghost to touch your heart, you can make the choice to follow those promptings and be baptised by immersion. This is the example the Savior set to be baptised and follow his example. Show more Show less
