Hi I'm Jordan Allen

I am from Colorado, I work at a bank and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am in my twenties, married, have a beautiful little girl and have a yellow lab. My wife and I love being in Colorado, and love the surrounding area.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had experiences that have taught me about God, and his plan for me. These experiences have made me have a desire to know for myself what the truth is. I have asked my father in heaven and recieved the confirmation that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that we have a living Prophet today.

How I live my faith

I am a teacher of an adult Sunday Sunday school. I am able to prepare a lesson from the scriptures and share it with 15-30 other adults.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Jordan Allen
Yes, it is true. We are taught about it in the Book of Mormon. It is also prophesied of in the New Testament by Jesus Christ himself. He let us know that he had "other sheep" which were not of the "fold" found in and around Jerusalem. He stated that they too he must bring, that they would here his voice and there would be one fold and one shepherd, because he was not just the Savior of the people in and around Jerusalem, but of the World. To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Jordan Allen
Like any other thing that people are very happy about finding, people are excited to tell their friends about being members of what they believe to be God's church back on Earth. Because of that excitement, others are also excited and they want to learn more about it, and once they do, they are touched by the Spirit of the Lord which helps them to realize its truth as well. Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Jordan Allen
Like many other religions, we believe that God is the same "yesterday, today and forever", in the New Testament, Jesus Christ established a church that included apostles and prophets. When these apostles died, they were replaced by other apostles. We believe that Christ's church should still have all of those original aspects, because that is what He set up originally and should never change. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Jordan Allen
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was sent here to be a guide, a teacher, and most importantly, the Messiah spoken of by ancient Prophets and the Savior of the world. It is because he sacrificed himself for our sins that we can repent of our wrong doings, and be forgiven. Because and through Him, we are able to return and live with our Father in Heaven. Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Jordan Allen
The easiest way to answer this question is with an analogy. If you wanted to be married to someone, you would have to go to a person who had the legal authority to do so. Otherwise, you would just be standing with some guy reading a legal contract between you and your potential spouse. The authority to perform a baptism is every bit as important as the legal authority to marry. Even though you are trying to take a step by showing God that you want to follow him, and are getting Baptized, if the person performing it doesn't have the authority to do so, it doesn't have the same significance as one done by a person with the proper authority. The best part about the whole thing is though, that this authority (the Aaronic Priesthood) still exists today. John the Baptist had it when he baptized Jesus and it was restored by him to the Latter-Day prophet Joseph Smith. If someone wants to be baptized by the right power and authority, they can! Are Mormons Christians?

Jordan Allen
It depends on your definition of Christian. Many people immediately associate being Christian with Protestantism and if that is case for you, no, they aren't. But if your definition of Christian is less specific and defined as people who believe in trying to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, then absolutely yes. Since, I was a little boy, my Mom and Grandmother have taught me that one of the most important things to do is to try to be like Jesus. To love others and do everything I can to help others come closer unto Him. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Jordan Allen
Like the Bible, the Book of Mormon was written by a number of different ancient Prophets, inspired by God to teach and preach unto the people, starting from a time prior to the time of Jesus Christ, until about 400 years after his death and Resurrection. It is called the Book of Mormon, because it was compiled by one of these ancient Prophets named Mormon. Show more Show less
