Hi I'm Scott

I am a father and a husband. I practice law. I love the outdoors and coaching my kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for 16 years and have 6 wonderful children -- ages 14 to 2. Our week nights and Saturdays are packed with school projects, sports practices and -- well, that takes up about all of the free time we have. I love to run, but it's really hot outside this time of year and . . . let's just say I'm surviving.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith permeates my entire life -- it is wrapped into everything my wife and I do; everything I do with my children; and hopefully everything I do when I'm alone. My wife and I go to church regularly and participate in our congregation on a weekly basis. My wife works with women, helping them and their families through difficult times. I love talking to people about my beliefs and listening to what they believe.

How I live my faith

Well, my religion kind of found me -- I was born into a Mormon family. I grew up mostly in Utah, but I truly found my faith when I was 13 and living in Israel. I was a minority for the first time -- a religious minority. I had to decide what I believed and whether I wanted to fit in or follow God. I wish I could say I've been perfect since then, but I haven't -- it's been slow progress, but I feel that over the years I come closer and closer to Christ. It all began that year I lived in Israel.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

I love the Bible! My father taught ancient scripture at a nearby university where I grew-up. I loved asking him questions about those ancient prophets and listening to his answers. I've been to Israel 6 times in my life and love the Bible lands. The words of the prophets and especially Jesus Christ are inspired and give us the principles of happy living -- even in our world today. When I'm facing a challenge in life, I open up the Bible and can always find comfort, strength and direction in my life. Show more Show less
