Hi I'm Sharon

I am a 4th generation Mormon. My ancestors came from the Carolinas and settled in the San Luis Valley in Colorado. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the church. I think I have always had a testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel and the Book of Mormon. I am the oldest of a family of six children. I am a mother of two beautiful daughters of whom I am very proud. I am also a grandmother of a little boy that I thought I would never have. He is a wonderful child and has been an inspiration to me and our family. I worked out of the home for 32 years but have enjoyed retirement since 2001. It is hard remember how I found time to work because I have been so busy ever since I retired. I love my callings in the church, although some of them have been better than others. I love serving the Lord and other people.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the church. Even though it took me a long time to actually realize I had a testimony, I have always found love and security in being active and trying to do the things that I have been called or asked to do. And I know that being a Mormon is the only thing I want to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church and other meetings on a regular basis. Also I try to complete my visiting teaching every month and I also am a visiting teaching supervisor and have several sisters that report their visiting teaching to me so we can keep records of all they sisters that get visited. My husband and I attend the Temple on a regular basis and we served a service mission from October 2007 to September 2008. I try to help other people any time I can by acting as transportation for elderly ladies that need to got to doctors' appointments or to buy groceries. This is by no means a chore. I get more from this than these elderly sisters do because it helps me get to know them better and I learn to love them.
