Hi I'm Damon

I grew up near Seattle in a Mormon household. Though a member my whole life, I did not know the faith was true until I was 21.

About Me

I am a father of two wonderful energetic boys. My wife and I have been married for 12 years. We love being outside going on hikes, bike rides and playing at the park. I enjoy running, rock climbing, reading, and swimming. We are avid fans of our Seattle Sounders football club. Lastly, if there is a beach nearby we will probably be on it.

Why I am a Mormon

My great grandparents were the first members of my family who were converted to the L.D.S. faith. I was raised inside the Mormon faith. Though I questioned everything and had my doubts about the truthfulness of the Church and its claims, I knew the teachings of the gospel were of great substance. I did not know the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was true until I was 21. That is when I prayed to my Father in heaven and asked him if Joseph Smith was his prophet. I received an answer through a joyful burning in my soul. From that moment I knew Joseph Smith was a true prophet and his work came from God. In that moment my life changed. I became a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ. I wanted to live a life worthy of his love and mercy.

How I live my faith

My family tries our best to obey the commandments and follow Christ's example by serving others. My wife and I teach the 3 and 4 years old in our church about Jesus Christ and the great things he has done for us. I am also the Webelos leader in the local cub scout troop. We also visit families within our congregation each month to make sure their needs are met both physically and spiritually. Through these visits, these families have become life long friends.
